Renaissance Prowler 42:
66.7 WOT MPH w/4x Evinrude 300s
The Renaissance Prowler 42 is a high-performance catamaran CC that proved an ideal platform for the high-torque 2-stroke power provided by quad Evinrude E-TEC G2 300s. The single-tube rigging made possible by these all-digital engines keeps the transom area clean, well-organized and provides all the advantages of built-in digital steering, throttle, and tilt-and-trim functions. Though we've not yet tested the boat for maximum performance, Evinrude's tech staff has and they recorded a top speed of 66.7 mph with 26" (66 cm) pitch 4-blade propellers.

Hampton Yachts Endurance 720 Skylounge LRC:
A Motoryacht to Live On
The main salon of the Hampton Yachts Endurance 720 Skylounge LRC is surrounded by glass and has a 7’ (2.13 m) overhead. Matched-grain, satin-finished African Makore Cherry veneer, 55 mils thick, is found throughout — from the Skylounge, throughout the main deck salon, dining area, and forward galley to the three en suites belowdecks. Decking also gets special treatment — heated granite is found not only in the heads but also in the main deck galley, for those who like to get that morning cup of coffee barefoot.

Robalo R222:
Capable Angler w/Sporty Handling
The Robalo R222 is a fishing boat first, of course, but our captain also found that she welcomes the kind of fun maneuvers that might entertain the family on a weekend of joyriding and tow sports. She has PWC-like take-offs and predictable handling with no sign of chine walk or falling off the bubble in hard turns. The 200-hp Yamaha 4-stroke with a 15” (38 cm) pitch 3-blade prop produced a time-to-plane of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 42.0 mph. At 26.0 mph, she got 3.4 mpg for a range of 277 statute miles, enough to easily take her to Grand Bahamas’ West End and back out of southeast Florida ports — as well as to pull a fleet of tubers all day long on the home lake.

Pardo 43:
Dayboat w/ Lots to Offer for Overnights
The Pardo 43 is a luxury dayboat with head-turning Italian style, but that’s only topside. She also manages to fit a sitting area with a flatscreen TV, a double berth and two singles below decks, along with plenty of storage. The head is to starboard and it includes a vessel sink and fully-enclosed shower with a rain head as well as a shower wand. The galley, including a two-burner stove, sink and three refrigerators, is on the main deck, saving space below — as is the dining table, which can seat six.

Regency Yachts P65:
Old-World Woodwork/Modern Solutions
The Regency Yachts P65 has an interior by Sylvia Bolton Design, a Seattle studio that specializes in dramatic but durable décor for yacht interiors. It’s clearly a cut above the usual in-house stylings from many builders. She’s built by the New Ocean Yachts yard in Taiwan using top-flight finishes and materials. The matched-grain walnut finishes on the test boat — from the pilothouse through the salon and down into the accommodations level — are particularly impressive. This is one of the better solutions we have seen for dining in a pilothouse design.
