Aquila 32:

Cruising Cat w/Practical Features

The Aquila 32’s hydraulic swim platform is sure to be one of the most popular options.

One of the most innovative options available on the Aquila 32 cruising catamaran is the hydraulic swim platform. When it’s lowered, there’s a set of stairs between the outboard motors that go down too to make it easy to enter and exit the water. Additionally, the outboards can still be raised fully out of the water when the boat is in the slip or on the mooring. Stainless-steel guards encircle the powerheads and the cowlings have anti-scuff strips that push up hinged sections of the cockpit lounge when the motors are raised. More...

Robalo 206 Cayman:

Bay Boat Designed to Multitask

Robalo 206 Cayman

Beneteau Swift Trawler 47

Over the last ten years or so, Beneteau has built more trawler yachts than any other brand and, as they say, has learned a thing or two. By combining functionality and practicality with an affordable price and then constantly improving the breed with new models, it has been able to deliver boats to the marketplace with high utility and good value. In fact, the boats are pretty much in a league of their own because they are not intended to be world cruisers with oceanic capabilities – simply because that’s not what 95% of trawler buyers need. Over the years, Beneteau's designers have refined their version of the trawler concept, which was to create a boat that was designed for displacement-speed work, with the ability to hit 20 knots, or a bit more, for extraordinary circumstances – thus the appellation “Swift Trawler.” With our test boat’s large propellers and bow thruster, she can easily be docked. Adding the stern thruster further facilitated the task. The manufacturer also did a good job insulating the boat’s engine room, and we recorded 81 dbA at 3000 rpm. More...
