CL Yachts CLB88

On the new CLB88 from CL Yachts, it could be argued that the flying bridge will be the most popular gathering area and there’s ample evidence to back up the assertion. First, it’s huge, taking up nearly half of the yacht’s overall length of 88’11” (27.07 m). Large L-shaped seating to port wraps around a solid wood table and just across is a full bar with five stools. Overhead, there’s a carbon-fiber hardtop. The aft boat deck has a davit for launching and retrieving a tender and, when left open, it has lots of space for deck chairs. But the question remains, how does the flying bridge hold up against the other social zones? Let’s find out. More...

Tiara 48 LS:

New Luxury Dayboat w/Long Legs

tiara-48ls-0301.png

New Tiara 48 LS powered by 3x Mercury Verado 600-hp engines.

According to company president Tom Slikkers, the new Tiara 48 LS was in the making for a year and a half. Tiara engineers worked closely with those of Mercury Marine to produce a yacht that met some rigorous performance standards laid down by both companies. As the image above clearly shows, the 48 LS was designed for comfortable cruising and entertaining, and when at anchor, access to the water is unimpeded. Her triple Mercury 7.6 L V12 naturally-aspirated engines are stationary on the transom and have dual prop lower units that can be turned in a 90-degree arc from side to side. She gets on plane with little bow rise and can stay there at relatively low RPM, a detail that gives her long range. But her main mission is being a luxury day boat for entertaining friends and family in comfort. Find out all about her. See the video and report...

World’s First Handheld with AIS

Icom IC-M94D

Automatic Identification System (AIS) information is big and it typically takes an expensive set of components installed in the pilothouse to send and receive the vast array of information on each vessel that is equipped with this technology. Icom has just turned that mindset upside down by not only making the receiving tech affordable — it’s handheld. This is a major breakthrough and opens doors to classes of boats that otherwise would not have been able to take advantage of this valuable resource. It is bar none the most advanced handheld unit available. More...

Sea Ray Sundancer 370 Outboard:

Completely Redefining the Sundancer

Sea Ray Sundancer 370 Outboard

The new Sundancer 370 Outboard redefines the legendary series from Sea Ray with an all-new look and feel. She’s the first model to come out of the Brunswick Boat Group Technology Center and if this first boat is anything to go by… we say “bring it on!” Not only is she outboard powered, she has a large gathering space in the cockpit and the backrests can be converted for forward or aft-facing seating. One of the biggest departures compared to previous Sundancers is the abundance of glass throughout the helm deck, running right up to the hardtop. More...

Ocean Alexander 26R

The second model in the Revolution series, the Ocean Alexander 26R is the result of a collaboration between the studios of British designer Evan K. Marshall and Arrabito Naval Architects of Livorno, Italy. She is a vessel designed for serious cruising and not to be just a gin palace. With a plumb bow and the robust profile of today’s modern motoryachts, she maximizes interior space. The vessel shown here has the optional enclosed skylounge. Belowdecks, she has a full-beam master stateroom plus a walkaround oblique-angled berth in the forward cabin. Ocean Alexander stands behind its products with owner orientation and 24/7 on-call support. More...
