Is Covered for Covid
More than 60 boats will be on display at the Steelpointe Yacht & Charter Show, being held Sept. 24-27 in Bridgeport, CT. This “invitation-only” show is a perfect fit for the Covid protocols and for avoiding the crowds that can ruin a show for serious buyers. Because all visitors must register and will receive a QR pass on their smartphone, they will be temperature checked before entry. Daily visitors are limited to just 1,000 VIPs who can range over the docks and with the boats spaced well apart, personal safety is maximized. The same protocol was followed at the June Steelpointe show, and no Covid cases were reported afterward. All registration records are shared with state health authorities for monitoring.
BoattestLEASING will have a new Edgewater 37 on hand for inspection, and charters or leases will be available on this boat in Florida this winter. Several large motoryachts will also be on display for charter, as well, through their brokers.
Sikorsky helicopters and sea planes will be on hand for rental, and on land will be exotic cars for sale. A signature feature of the Steelpointe shows is the ambiance of live music, complimentary cocktails and beverages, and a relaxed atmosphere without crowds. A world-class sea food restaurant is on site.

Donzi 41 GT:
Seating Designed for the Significant Other
The 41 GT’s rear seats can even be used when the boat is running in chop.
One of the biggest challenges that buyers of traditional high-performance boats have is convincing the significant other that the seating plan was made for her. Of course, she’s right –it wasn’t. Now, Donzi has changed all that on its 41 GT. Donzi has created a high-performance boat that is intended for entertaining while at anchor or at the dock, as well as comfortable chaise lounge seating when the boat is under way at high speed. The aft facing lounges have padded footrests so passengers can sit and watch the wake, or sunbathe. The facing center section seating has a wide aisle for entertaining. A refrigerator and wet bar are handy. The deck is on one level, eliminating a trip hazard. When it comes to boat selection, ladies rule and usually get their way, and certainly do on the Donzi 41 GT. Flying Bridge Meant to Entertain
The 500 Fly’s flying bridge has plenty of seating for guests to relax and enjoy the sea breezes.
Ascending the steps from the Galeon 500 Fly’s aft deck, we found one of the most expansive flying bridges in class. Enough seating exists to accommodate a dozen guests. Aft, there’s a broad settee and a full-sized folding table and forward of the settee is a full-sized sunpad that encompasses the full breadth of the bridge. A Bimini top can be raised to cover the majority of the area with shad. An outdoor wetbar includes a refrigerator, sink and storage and a grill and ice maker can be added. Nimbus T9:
Modern Dayboat w/ Private Cabin
The Nimbus T9 is a dayboat designed for myriad activities. The cockpit has horseshoe-shaped bench seats around a removable table in the stern. Stow the table in its dedicated rack and the backrest for the lounge can be laid flat to create a large sunpad. An optional stainless-steel sink and grill can be located beneath the flip-up lid abaft the leaning post and there’s another lounge on the front of the helm console. MasterCraft X26:
No One Gets Left On the Dock
The MasterCraft X26 has a Yacht rating for passenger capacity.
The MasterCraft X26 is one of the largest wakesports models on the market and the heart of the boat is her horseshoe-shaped cockpit that can accommodate up to a dozen people. Opposite the helm, the backrest for the port lounge can be set for forward or aft-facing travel. When set up for the latter, the lounge measures 7’9” (2.36 m). The cockpit deck is 40” by 41” (101.6 cm x 104.14 cm) and amidships freeboard is 39” (99.06 cm). That’s enough to keep kids and dogs within the boat’s confines. More...
