BoattestLEASING Becomes the...

A two-year build out of the club is planned with a total of 18 locations in Florida.

As of today, BoattestLEASING is morphing into a full-fledged shared access boat club – by popular demand. Our leaseholders love our luxurious boats (see the testimonials below) and the general program of individual care and service, but they and others have asked us why we don’t just make it a club with unlimited access?

Our answer: Done and done! As of today!

Its name is the Sovereign Boat Club, and club members will have virtually unlimited access to some of the finest and most luxurious boats on the market in class – boats costing from $250,000 to $750,000 new. The club has two boats available now – an EdgeWater 370 in Riviera Beach and a Pursuit DC266 in St. Petersburg – and two more are in the works. Current plans call for six more in 2021 and 10 in 2022 – each in a different location around the State of Florida.

Be advised that the Sovereign Boat Club (SBC) is not for everyone. It is not looking for hundreds of members, like mass-market clubs, where the primary objective is low-cost boating in an inshore craft. SBC is for decerning boaters, real anglers, and serious cruising folk, who want use of a premium offshore vessel and tailored customer service for a reasonable price. Each boat is limited to just eight members. SBC is, perhaps, the most exclusive boat club in America.

See what our members have to say —

Better than a Mass-Market Club

“I've been a member of a [mass-market] boat club for over ten years. It was nice for a period of time. But their vessels were mediocre and not suited for my needs... the Pursuit DC266 is a premium boat and I always use the boat when I want it.“ – TT

No Ownership Burden or Worries

“It’s like owning our own boat, but way easier. The cost is similar to other boating programs, but what you get is a whole other level. If you compare their costs versus owning a boat of this caliber, there’s no contest.” – TS

Smooth Operation

“This is the first time I have done this, and it could not be off to a better start. Kudos to BoatTEST and its staff for developing this much needed program.” – GM

With limited memberships available in each boat, and only 14 locations left in Florida for an SBC boat, interested parties should contact General Manager, Greg Sweeney at their earliest opportunity. 727-200-3474, or write [email protected].

Combining Speed and Comfort

Space to Entertain

The Monte Carlo 52 is a flying bridge motoryacht designed to entertain with social zones in the flying bridge, cockpit and salon. Port and starboard side windows drop below the furniture to create a feeling of excess beyond the 15’ (4.57 m) beam. Obituary

Catalina Yachts Founder Frank Butler Dies

frank-butler.png

Frank Willis Butler

Frank Butler, president and CEO of Catalina Yachts, passed away Nov. 15 in Westlake Village, Calif. During his career, Catalina built more than 85,000 sailboats.

He founded the company in 1970, the heyday of fiberglass sailboat building, competing with such high-profile brands as Cal, Columbia, Ranger, C & C, Ericson, Morgan, Irwin, Pearson and many others, all of which grabbed the industry’s spotlight at one time or another, while Catalina plodded along quietly in the background selling affordable boats that satisfied thousands of buyers’ urge to go sailing. In the meantime, all those high-profile, chest-thumping brands have long-since bitten the dust. Today, Catalina is the only large American sailboat builder left standing, after the ravages of 22% interest rates, the 10% luxury tax, recession, war, market crashes, foreign assault, tariffs, and pandemic. It’s not easy being a survivor. God bless Frank Butler, a quiet man who knew what he was doing. More...
