BENETEAU Swift Trawler 41:

New Design Enhances Utility

beneteau-st41-083120.png

The Swift Trawler 41’s salon.

The new Swift Trawler 41 is the first model in the series with a dedicated horseshoe-shaped dining area that seats six and very cleverly solves a problem that most boats in class have – no inboard seating for the dining table! That solution also doubles to provide another feature that BoatTEST is keen on – captain and companion seating, in one wide bench seat for two. Other options available for the express version include solar panels, a skylight or kayak or board racks on top of the hardtop. Many folks we know don’t want to be climbing ladders to get to a flying bridge, so putting that space to good use adds more utility and saves money on construction and redundant controls and electronics. New Regal 36 XO Express

regal-36xo-083120.png

The 36 XO is one of the few outboard-powered express cruisers on the market.

Regal recently introduced a new 36’ (11 m) coupe express cruiser that fills an important gap in Regal’s line. The 36 XO is outboard powered and designed for day boating, but also has the sleeping accommodations and the amenities to take a family on a cruising vacation. We have not yet tested the boat, but we have taken a sneak peek so watch our video look here...

Manitou 23 Encore SHP:

Performance Meets Plush

manitou-23shp-083120.png

The forward lounge cushion on the 23 Encore SHP is, in a word, plush.

Even when she’s equipped with a rather tame 150-hp outboard, Manitou’s 23 Encore was still a strong performer that hit 36.8 mph at top speed, and she popped on plane in 3.2 seconds. That performance can be credited to the boat’s SHP triple-pontoon design. But she’s also among the most luxurious, comfortable pontoons in the premium category. Her bottom cushions and backrests are some of the thickest and most plush we’ve had the pleasure to recline on. More...

Sea Ray SLX 310 Outboard:

Technology Improves On-Board Experience

searay-slx310-083120.png

The white plane is part of Sea Ray’s Dynamic Running Surface.

Two design elements stand out on Sea Ray’s SLX 310 Outboard: the company’s Quiet Ride sound-reducing technology and the Dynamic Running Surface. The first consists of acoustic insulation, vibration-dampening materials and tuning the transom during construction to reduce vibration and noise. We have tested the same Sea Ray model with and without Quiet Ride and have documented and a nearly 10 decibel reduction in noise. The Dynamic Running Surface consists of large triangular planes set into the hull that can be controlled manually or with presets to improve acceleration, reduce bow rise and keep the boat at optimal trim. In our tests, the SLX 310 planed in less than 5 seconds and had a quiet, comfortable ride. More...

Formula 31 Performance Cruiser:

Haute Couture Meets Peak Performance

formula-31-pc-083120.jpg

Formula 31 Performance Cruiser

Formula’s 31 Performance Cruiser has a mission to meet the manufacturers’ luxury standards, to be a comfortable place to entertain guests and be comfortable for a weekend getaway. Because she is at the pinnacle of the quality and price pyramid, she’s a select boat for a select few, kind of like the highest-end Porsche or Mercedes. In addition to her luxury appointments, she also has a performance pedigree that lets her bound across the Gulf Stream when other boats would stay behind to wait for better weather. More...
