Cruisers Yachts 50 Cantius:

Maximizing Utility in a Quality Build

cruisers-50cantius-081020.png

The 50 Cantius’ aft grill enhances the boat’s entertaining possibilities.

Cruisers Yachts packs a plethora of functionality into the 50 Cantius. Her transom has an aft grill beneath a lift-up lid and just ahead is trunk-style storage that’s handy for fenders, water toys and other bulky items. Move into the cockpit and there’s a bench abaft a table with a smaller loveseat-style lounge forward. Entry to the salon is via a sliding glass door and the galley is immediately to port to serve both areas and create a large gathering space. Below, she can be configured with two or three cabins. Most important, the Cantius 50 is one of the best built boats in class, in our opinion. More...

Editor's Report

Tigé R23:

Surf at 10 mph, Waterski at 18 mph

tige-r23-081020.png

Tigé was one of the first towsports-boat builders to use a tab system to shape wakes.

While many wakesports boat manufacturers shy away from saying their boats are good for towing virtually all disciplines or activities, Tigé says its R23 is versatile enough to tow slalom skiers, wake and knee boarders and surf behind. She also tops 35 mph at WOT. The 23’ (7.0 m) boat rides on a patented convex V-shaped hull that curves up toward the transom with continuous rocker and has the manufacturer’s third-generation Tigé Adjustable Performance System (TAPS 3T). A proprietary touchscreen system called GO also manages ballast, speed and trim level. More...

Mako 284 CC:

Greater Range w/4.6 L 300-hp Mercs

mako-284cc-081020.png

The new-age 4.6-liter V-8s make a proven performer even better.

The 284 CC has been a cornerstone of Mako’s center-console lineup since 2005. She has taken countless anglers offshore and brought them back safely. So how did the company improve on this model? It bolted a pair of Mercury’s new 4.6L V-8 Verado outboards to the stern. The electronically controlled engines improve the boat’s performance and the driver’s experience with digital shifting and the Joystick Piloting System. The new motors also extend the boat’s range by about 60 miles compared to old Verado 300s. More...

Absolute Navetta 68:

2 Full-Beam Master Staterooms

absolute-navetta68-081020.png

This photo looking back from the Navetta 68’s lower helm shows the openness of her salon.

The Absolute Navetta 68’s 18’5” (5.62 m) beam is one of the widest for flying bridge yachts in her size range and her designers took advantage of that by creating a motoryacht with a voluminous interior. She has an open plan on her main deck with the galley positioned to serve the dinette, salon and cockpit with equal ease. Up top, her flying bridge is one of the largest in class. Belowdecks, she has a four-cabin plan and Absolute calls both the amidships and bow staterooms “masters.” Each has an en suite head with separate walk-in showers. More...
