Nimbus T9:

Scandinavian Day Boat w/Cabin

30’8” T9

The 30’8” T9 is the first of Nimbus Yachts’ “Tender” series, but don’t take that name too literally, as she is a versatile day boat for entertaining, watersports, weekend cruising, or even as a tender for a superyacht. She’s one of three models offered on the same 30’8” (9.35 m) twin-stepped hull from the Swedish brand, and all exude her Scandinavian origins. Her aft settee, that can seat four for cocktails or lunch, folds down into a sun pad, and her dual swim platforms wrap around a single high-horsepower engine and extend behind it. She comes standard with a fiberglass hardtop, and our test boat was fitted with a towing pylon for watersports. Importantly, she has a bow thruster that should make docking a snap, but if it isn’t – an ultra-wide and proud rub rail will protect the boat all around. Below, she has a two-sleeper cabin with 4’11” (1.49 m) headroom and enclosed head. She has seating for eight. More...

Astondoa 66 Flybridge:

Elegant Motoryacht Designed to Dazzle

astondoa-66-070620.png

Astondoa 66 Flybridge

The Astondoa 66 Flybridge is a motoryacht designed to impress even the most jaded yacht owner. The whole build from bow to stern is intended to maximize the utility of space and do it in high style. This Spanish builder has a vision that is as modern and cutting edge as anything coming out of Italy these days. As far as we can see, Astondoa has incorporated most of the latest good ideas of the Euro builders and added a few of its own. The manufacturer will customize the furniture to an owner’s needs. Belowdecks, she sleeps eight in four staterooms. More...

Grand Banks 60:

Iconic Long-Range Cruiser w/Classic Lines

grandbanks-60-070620.png

Grand Banks 60 – Capt. Steve admires the lowering storage cabinet.

The Grand Banks 60 represents the next generation of long-range cruising yachts from the manufacturer that, to a large degree, started the whole concept in the 1960s. But the GB 60 is not your father’s Grand Banks. The old GBs were low tech on purpose, but the GB 60 is high-tech on purpose. She’s built with a focus on efficiency, strength and a low center of gravity. In the interior, the craftsmanship adheres to the level of excellence for which Grand Banks is known, and there are some innovative touches. For example, in the galley, her designers used the high overhead (7’5” / 2.26 m) for storage cabinets, and with a push a button, it all lowers. More...

Donzi 41 GT:

81-MPH WOT in our Tests

donzi-41gt-070620.png

Donzi 41 GT

The Donzi 41 GT was the first in a new series of upscale luxury boats from Iconic Marine. If our test is any indication of things to come, new models will be fast and luxurious. She’s designed with a cockpit that’s more versatile than a typical narrow V-bottom, with sunning, entertaining and watersports venues in a creative layout. She has a twin-stepped hull and available outboard power to please performance junkies. Rear-facing chaise-style lounges can be occupied when the boat is underway. Belowdecks, the cabin is designed for day boating and would be more for escaping weather, or an afternoon nap, rather than overnighting. More...

Outer Reef 700:

Well-Equipped Long-Range Cruiser

outerreef-700-070620.png

Outer Reef 700

Outer Reef builds long-range cruising yachts designed to run primarily at displacement speeds and the 700 is the manufacturer’s most popular model. We’re told that the builder has more than 100 semi-displacement builds to its credit and it builds boats to client specifications, so much as is possible given the constraints of the molds and structural bulkheads. Our test model, Julianne, was commissioned by a repeat Outer Reef customer and is considered the most detailed and thoroughly equipped 700 to date. More...

Based on the feedback we've been getting about BoatTEST.com's Video Boating Course, it's clearly not only for beginners but for veteran boaters as well.
