Captain's Report

The Cross Top Brabus Line Aft Cabin is one of many new models offered on Axopar’s new 45 hull.

Finnish boat manufacturer Axopar has a new flagship series, the 45 Range that the company says will become its “most ambitious and most accomplished range so far.” It says the new series is a quantum-leap into a new size segment and that customer input helped in the design and equipping of the new series.

Modular Design Advantages

Axopar frequently refers to the “adventures” its boats are used for and says the 45 Range meets the needs and wishes of its customer’s for the ultimate adventurer. The new models will continue Axopar’s platform thinking with a broad selection of options and layouts.

Five models will be available on the new hull that measures 44’11” (13.7 m) long with a 13’9” (4.2 m) beam. She draws 3’3” (1 m) and with triple 300-hp Mercury Verado outboards, her weight is estimated at 15,433 lbs. (7,000 kg). She carries 317 gallons (1,200 liters) and has an estimated top speed exceeding 50 knots.

The new 45-footer has Axopar’s signature twin-stepped bottom and sharp, blunt bow.

The model range includes the 45 Spyder, T-Top, Sun-Top, Cross Top and Cross Cabin and all are available with the Brabus upgrade package. The twin-stepped bottom is designed for the 300-hp Mercury outboards with a focus on a superior power-to-weight ratio. She has the athletic, aggressive lines that have become signature to Axopar.

Freedom of Choice

Among the highlights we’ve seen on previous Axopar offerings are Gullwing doors in the bow area to access the cabin. New features include raised side-opening platforms at amidships that extend usable space to accommodate more guests. Sliding doors let the cockpit be fully enclosed without taking up additional space. The bow has seating around a table.

In the cockpit, Axopar designed a sofa plus a wetbar with a sink and two side-loading refrigerators plus a leaning post with adjustable dimensions. The bar can be upgraded with a grill. Belowdecks, she has standing headroom in the cabin plus a queen berth as well as a full height wet head. A galley has a sink and space for a microwave oven.

The Aft Sofa model has a rear-facing lounge with plenty of deck space aft. This is a serious day boat.

The cockpit can be configured with an aft-facing sofa, be left open on the XC model, a sunlounge with multiple storage compartments or an aft lounge with twin sunpads and a lounge.

At the helm, two companions can join the driver who has control of a digital glass panel with wo 12” (30.48 cm) chartplotters with the Axopar interface. She has a multifunction steering wheel and a 4.4-kW twin-prop bow thruster.
