The Navetta 68, one of the latest in the line, is designed with an exceptionally large upper deck, huge windows on the main deck and two master staterooms with centerline double berths and en-suite heads as well as two guest staterooms on the lower deck. Packaged with twin Volvo Penta D13 IPS1200 pod drives, the Absolute Navetta 68 is manageable by an owner/operator.
The Navetta 68 is one of Absolute’s latest conceptions and reflects their unusual approach to designing yachts with style and comfort.
Externally, the Absolute Navetta 68 has an original design for her exterior lines to accommodate a forward master stateroom.
Mission
The Navetta line is characterized by the distance cruising capability and outwardly by the vertical helm windows and plumb bow. Inwardly, the line takes full use of the interior volume by creating open space and roominess.
The Absolute Navetta 68 is designed, engineered, and built to be a family-friendly, luxury yacht for cruising adventures and entertaining. A wide-open floorplan on the main deck and four stateroom accommodations below provide the owner and their guest's interior comfort. The oversized upper flybridge deck, aft deck, hydraulic swim platform, and forward seating offers multiple options for al fresco entertainment and social gatherings. The Absolute Navetta 68 responds to the helm nicely when underway and it is easy to operate when close in maneuvering, making it a superlative yacht for an owner/operator.
The helm is center-mounted on the flybridge deck of the Absolute Navetta 68 and is surrounded with bench seating on both sides.
Major Features
Twin Volvo Penta IPS1200 Drives. The Absolute Navetta 68 hull is designed around twin Volvo Penta D13 IPS1200s with pod drives.
Midship Full-Beam Master Stateroom. With a centerline double berth and large hull side windows. The port side en-suite has a head compartment forward and walk-in shower aft.
Forward Full-Beam Master Stateroom. With a centerline double berth and large hull side windows. The en-suite is forward with double sink vanity and a large, glassed-in shower with a hull-side window.
Two Guest Staterooms. Both with a pair of single berths. The port side guest stateroom berths can electrically slide together to form one double berth. The port side guest stateroom also has a private entry to the shared day-head with a walk-in shower.
Full-featured Galley. The galley has a cooktop, refrigerator, freezer, sink, oven, icemaker, and storage spaces.
Upper Flybridge Deck. The overlarge upper deck features a large hardtop with sunroof, upper helm station, service bar with integrated summer kitchen, uncovered deck aft seating area and dining area.
Forward Seating. The forward seating, sun pad area and foredeck are on a single level.
Aft Deck. The aft deck has an overhead that provides protection over the entire area.
Hydraulic Swim Platform. The swim platform hydraulically lowers to provide water access or tender retrieval.
The Absolute Navetta 68 offers a choice of two full-beam staterooms to act as the master stateroom.
The galley on the Absolute Navetta 68 is situated between the salon and the aft deck, allowing the hosts to serve both entertaining areas as well as the starboard side dinette.
The main deck has plenty of liked amenities for entertaining from bow to stern.
The extra-large upper flybridge deck on the Absolute Navetta 68 is accessed from stairs leading up from the port side of the aft deck.
Performance
The Absolute Navetta 68 is heavily built and nothing happens quickly. However, the Absolute Navetta 68 is very responsive to the helm with a sedate 4-degree roll into turns, keeping everyone and everything from getting tossed about.
The Absolute Navetta 68 has a length overall of 67’4” (20.52 m), a beam of 18’5” (5.62 m), and a draft of 5’11” (1.75 m). With an empty weight of 117,330 lbs. (53,220 kg) with 43-percent fuel, 71-percent of the water capacity and four people on board, there was an estimated test weight of 121,907 lbs. (55,296 kg).
Top Speed. With twin 900-horsepower Volvo Penta IPS1200 pod drive diesel engines running at 2300 rpm, the test boat reached a top speed of 22.2 knots (25.6 mph / 32.2 kph).
Best Cruise. At 2300 rpm, the Absolute Navetta 68 achieved an 87.7 gph fuel burn that translated to 0.3 nmpg (0.35 mpg) and a range of 210.9 nautical miles. The fuel burn remained consistent down to 1750 rpm and 14.2 knots (16.34 mph) with a range of 262.6 nautical miles. At a no-wake setting of 1000 rpm and 8 knots (9.2 mph), the fuel burn was 10.5 gph producing a range of 637 nautical miles. Minimum planing speed was 13.5 knots (15.54 mph) where the Absolute Navetta 68 range was 281.1 nautical miles. This all calculated while still reserving 10-percent of the Absolute Navetta 68’s 924.6-gallons (3,500 L) total fuel capacity.
Acceleration. The Absolute Navetta 68 has a minimalistic 5-degree bow rise when power was applied and maintained that attitude on all on-plane settings.
Handling
Testing the Absolute Navetta 68 was in calm sea conditions, therefore her offshore characteristics were not tested.
The Absolute Navetta 68 is exceedingly comfortable and very responsive to the helm. She has a spray rail that curves back to form the chine. This serves to throw spray low and wide for a dry ride. During close in maneuvering, the test captain really appreciated the close proximity of the IPS joystick and the progressive bow thruster control. In exceedingly tight conditions, the combination of the IPS pods and the bow thruster on the Absolute Navetta 68 proved to be complementary and showed how well the Absolute Navetta 68 maneuvers in normally tense situations.
SeaKeeper Gyrostabilizer. The Absolute Navetta 68 had a SeaKeeper 16 gyrostabilizer. When the stabilizer was activated, the roll was limited to 2-degrees port and starboard. When the stabilizer was deactivated the roll rate increased to 7 to 8-degrees either side of neutral for a total of 15-degrees.
Boat Inspection
Although far from a classic, the bulwarks at midship on the Absolute Navetta 68 drop down to provide more light to enter the oversized side windows.
Stern
The full-beam swim platform is 6’ (1.83 m) deep and 5’ (1.52). It hydraulically lowers to launch and retrieve a tender with its 1,200 lb. (544.31 kg) lift capacity or to act as a private beach.

When the Absolute Navetta 68 swim platform is lowered, a set of stairs deploys on the starboard side.
The Absolute Navetta 68 is equipped with a triple-telescoping passerelle with a handrail that deploys from within the starboard side transom steps.
The center of the transom has a pantographic door that leads to the two crew cabins. Note the heavy-duty cleat that complements the grab rail on the transom side bulwark.
Absolute has provided spreader lights to illuminate the swim platform and aft end of the upper deck. There are also underwater lights below the swim platform.
Teak covered stairs built into both sides of the transom lead up to the aft deck. Note the safety gates in place.
In the starboard side transom bulwark are two cable reel systems for deploying and retrieving the two 50-amp shore power cords.
Aft Deck
Egress to the aft deck on the Absolute Navetta 68 is via teak covered steps on both the starboard and port sides of the transom. The aft deck is open and clean with well-designed functionality. Deck chairs are stored in special racks in the mechanical space below, keeping the deck uncluttered.
The transom bench seating is 9’5” (2.87 m) wide. Mounted on two fixed pedestals, the solid wood table is 6’3” (1.91 m) wide by 2’11” (0.89 m) deep.
The safety gate folds nicely into a recess in the aft quarter molded-in counter space.
Under the gas assist lifting countertop is line handling gear, including a 16” (40.64 cm) cleat, a round stainless-steel rimed opening to the line storage below and a warping windlass with foot control below. This is all repeated on the port side aft quarter.
On both sides of the Absolute Navetta 68, the aft deck bulwarks are boarding doors just forward of the line handling station.
On the starboard side built into the Absolute Navetta 68 aft deck bulwark is an engine control station.
The control station includes a Volvo Penta IPS joystick, a progressive bow thruster controller, the ground tackle windlass controller, and the Volvo Penta engine start/stop switches.
The overhead on the aft deck of the Absolute Navetta 68 is 6’9” (2.06 m) over the deck. An unusual feature is wood panels with stainless steel trim.
There is recessed LED lighting built into the overhead. Note the stairs to the upper deck have courtesy lighting built into the risers.
The glass aft deck partition opens to create a 6’6” (1.98 m) high by 4’2” (1.27 m) wide egress to the main deck interior. The counter on the port side has storage below.
The galley window lowers into the counter and a flip over insert creates a service bar for the aft deck.
With the aft deck partition fully open, there is a flow to the interior of the Absolute Navetta 68.
There is a sunshade that automatically deploys from the aft portion of the overhead. The overhead support stanchions have built-in guide rails.
Galley and Dinette
The galley is located on the port side directly forward of the aft deck. It is fully equipped with storage above and below the counter. In accordance with being a family-style yacht, the galley on the Absolute Navetta 68 is positioned to easily serve the dinette, salon, and aft deck.
The galley on the Absolute Navetta 68 has large areas of open Dekton surfaced counter space with Calacatta marble nuances.
Details in the countertop include stylized wood trim work and a recessed grab rail.
The Absolute Navetta 68's galley features a full-size refrigerator and freezer built into latching hemp colored laminate cabinetry.
Just aft of the refrigerator freezer built into the framework is a coffee nook. Note the heavy-duty latches on the refrigerator cabinetry.
Built into the Absolute Navetta 68 galley’s port side countertop is a Miele four-burner induction cooktop.
Directly above the cooktop is a Miele powered exhaust hood. Note the storage cabinets above.
Below the cooktop is a storage drawer designed to keep the flatware neatly in place with sorted recessed receptacles.
Below the flatware storage drawer is a Miele microwave and convection over combination and in the cabinet abaft the oven is the dishwasher.
The deep stainless-steel underhung sink has a faucet with a pull-out sprayer.
Behind the sink, a glass divider can be electrically raised to form a partition splash guard between the galley and salon.
Dedicated tableware storage with recessed sorters to keep the tableware in place can be found under the countertop.
In the aft-most counter cabinet is storage for the stemware which have magnetized bases that keep them in place on the ferrous metal lined shelves and tables.
On the starboard side of the Absolute Navetta 68's main deck interior directly across from the galley is a dinette.
The matte finish elm table is mounted on two fixed pedestals and includes a ferrous metal underlayer to accommodate the magnetized glassware. Note the natural woven oak floor.
There is seating for eight around the 6’8” (2.03 m) by 2’8” (0.81 m) table with the starboard side 7’9” (2.36 m) couch and movable chairs.
Abaft of the dinette couch is an end table with a recessed countertop to keep incidentals in place.
Salon
The salon is forward of the dinette and galley. The air conditioning vents are concealed in glossy varnished dark Canaletto walnut frames. The forward bulkhead is fluted with matte-finished elm and ivory-colored material and features an electrically openable section to the helm deck.
The Absolute Navetta 68's salon has a Minotti sofa and loveseat that surround a custom glass top coffee table and an 8’10” (2.7 m) by 5’7” (1.7 m) ecru colored Minotti throw rug. Note the extra-large windows that are 6’7” (2.01 m) wide by 4’ (1.22 m) high.

Between the galley and the salon sofa is an end table with the recessed countertop to keep things in place.
Across from the seating area is an entertainment and storage cabinet under a large window.
With the touch of a button, a 50” (127.0 cm) television rises from the back of the entertainment and storage cabinet.
On the starboard side, just forward of the entertainment and storage cabinet is a pantograph door that opens to the starboard side deck.
Helm Deck
The helm deck is located forward of the salon two steps up from the main deck with 10” (25.4 cm) risers fitted with courtesy lights. The operating station is exceptionally well arranged with three upper pods each housing 21” (53.34 cm) multifunction displays. A fourth 24” (60.96 cm) multifunction display is mounted in the console to the left of the steering wheel.
The three multifunction display pods are positioned for the operator’s optimum view. The leather wrapped steering wheel is mounted on a tilt base.
The compass is ceiling mounted in line with the steering wheel and operator’s view ahead.
To the port of the steering wheel are air conditioning vents, system switches, spotlight controller, and the 24” (60.96 cm) multifunction display.
To starboard there are two more air conditioning vents, the VHF radio remote, trim tab controller, engine start stops switches, the Volvo Penta engine monitor display, a digital engine control binnacle, the IPS joystick with the bow thruster controller perfectly positioned next to the joystick. Above is the windlass controller and to the right is a recessed tray with drink holder.
There is a helm seat that is replete with integrated controls for the four multifunction displays and to port is a companion seat. Both are plush and accented with diamond stitching. Both have flip-up bolsters and flip-up armrests.
A footrest extends along the length of the Absolute Navetta 68's helm deck console.
With the salon bulkhead panel open, the operator has a fairly unobstructed view to stern.
On the port side of the helm deck is a credenza-style cabinet with recessed top and an electrically-actuated opening window.
There is wrap around cabinet storage below the portside window. It is unpadded and vinyl wrapped which reduces reflective glare and can act as additional seating.
Visibility is outstanding through the 8’ (2.44 m) wide by 2’2” (0.66 m) high single-piece windshield with three heavy-duty windshield washer wipers that come out of the 22” (55.88 cm) brow above.
There are defrosting vents situated on the sill of the windshield behind the multifunction display pods.
The helm deck and helm on the Absolute Navetta 68 are subtlety lit for night operations.
Side Decks
The side decks are 23” (58.42 cm) wide. The bulwarks are 14” (35.56 cm) above the deck with stainless-steel handrails that top out at 39” (99.06 cm). There are two 14” (35.56 cm) cleats on both side decks. One just aft of midships and one just forward of midships on each side.
The side decks on the Absolute Navetta 68 are protected by an overhead which is 6’9” (2.06 m) above the side deck.

Forward on the Absolute Navetta 68 side decks are four teak covered steps with 9” (22.86 cm) risers with fitted courtesy lights.
Bow Area
Forward on the Absolute Navetta 68 there is another al fresco social and entertaining area that features a sofa-like bench seating and a large sun pad that surrounds a solid teak table.
The bow area is surrounded with a 10” (25.4 cm) toe rail with handrails that start at 26” (66.04) above the deck to 34” (86.36 cm) all the way forward. Note, the table folds for ease of movement and the backrests on the sun pad are adjustable.
The table unfolds to create opposed seating. Note the convenient recess in the center of the table to keep things in place.
Mounted in the starboard side of the bow seating base is a stereo remote.
When the backrest is all the way down there is a very large sun pad. Note the pop-up LED lighting at the corners of the sun pad.
Drink holders and a recessed tray that keep incidentals, like cell phones in place are molded into each side of the sun pad base.
The foredeck houses the ground tackle with a vertical windlass, bow roller pulpit, and Delta-style anchor. Two large stylized chocks lead to two heavy-duty 16” (40.64 cm) cleats. The chain rode feeds into the chain locker below.
The Absolute Navetta 68 has a chaffing plate to protect the fairly plumb bow.
Upper Flybridge Deck
Access to the upper deck and flybridge is via a stairway leading up from the port side of the aft deck. Absolute pointed out that the upper deck on the Navetta 68 is what most people would expect from a much bigger yacht.

Across from the stairs on the starboard side is an L-shaped sofa with teak coffee table. Surrounding the deck is 32” (81.28 cm) high rails.
Aft of the sofa is an upper sun deck with two portable lounge chairs.
Forward of the Absolute Navetta 68’s upper deck stairway is a highly-stylized bar with a built-in summer kitchen. Note, the built-in grab rail.
The bar has a smoke looking upper counter and a solid surface working counter with a stainless-steel underhung sink with stainless-steel faucet.
Under the forward counter is a grill with a cover. Note the countertop has gas-assist struts that help keep the lid open.
Below the grill is the refrigerator and icemaker.
Inside the counter forward of the sink is a refrigerated compartment that could be used to chill bottled or canned beverages.
Under the sink and counter is storage space.
The storage is supplemented by more covered storage in the starboard side bulwark.
Across from the bar is an al fresco dining area with L-shaped bench seating and three chairs surrounding an 80” (203.20 cm) long by 35” (88.90 cm) wide teak dining table. Not the storage cabinet just abaft of the dining area.
The flybridge helm is center-mounted providing a wide vantage. It includes two 21” (53.34 cm) multifunction displays in raised pods flanking the center-mounted compass. The steering wheel is mounted on a tilt base. Note the angled footrest below.
On the far port side of the helm console is covered storage and a recessed area next to the display that could hold an additional 4” (10.16 cm) display. Below is a cubby with a lip.
Mounted on the port side of the console is the Volvo Penta engine monitor display, system switches, the spotlight control, the multifunction display controller, a VHF radio remote, and under the tilt base is the VHF speaker.
To starboard mounted in the helm console is the fire-suppressing system status monitor, engine start stops switches, the digital engine control binnacle, IPS joystick and progressive bow thruster controller. There is a drink holder and a second recessed area that would fit a 4” (10.16 cm) display.
Just below is the Fusion stereo remote and a tray for incidentals, such as a cell phone.
To supplement the wraparound windscreen there is a second windscreen mounted on the back of the helm station that can be manually raised and lowered.
The helm seat is a bucket-style with a flip-up bolster. Note there is U-shaped seating on both sides of the helm console providing plenty of companion seating.
The upper flybridge deck is protected by the microfiber upholstered hardtop with recessed LED lighting. The hardtop is 6’6” (1.98 m) above the deck and includes a 12’ (3.66 m) by 8’6” (2.59 m) electrically-actuated sunroof.
Mounted on the hardtop are two satellite receivers and the radar mount with the all-round navigation light.
Lower Deck Companionway
To the starboard side of the helm deck forward of the salon is a companionway leading to the lower deck accommodations.

The Absolute Navetta 68 has the electrical panel mounted in the companionway stair bulwark.
The top two sections of the panel controls the DC systems and the lower section controls the AC systems.
Also mounted in the companionway bulwark are the windlass controller and the SeaKeeper gyrostabilizer monitor.
Midships Master Stateroom
Absolute touts that the Navetta 68 has two master staterooms, one a full-beam midships cabin and one a forward full-beam cabin. The full-beam midships master stateroom is what owners have come to expect from a full-beam master.
The 78” (198.12 cm) long by 68” (172.72 cm) wide double berth is mounted on the centerline with recessed top end tables on either side. Note the courtesy lighting under the berth and cabinets.
Two sconce-style reading lights are mounted on the faceted crushed velvet wall coverings. Note, the headroom is 6’6” (1.98 m) from the deck to the overhead and 4’5” (1.35 m) over the berth.
To port is an opaque sliding glass door leading to the en-suite head. Forward is a 42” (106.68 cm) flat panel television mounted on the bulkhead.
To starboard there is a gloss varnished dark walnut countertop and vanity with a mirrored lid and compartmentalized storage.
Forward of the vanity area is a large walk-in closet. Note the door has a full-length mirror mounted on the front, not shown.
On the starboard side abaft of the vanity area is a storage cabinet with recessed countertop.
Midships Master En-Suite Head
The midships master en-suite head is built into the port side of the midship master stateroom and is accessed via an opaque glass sliding door. It is a split head arrangement with the head compartment forward, the shower compartment aft and the vanity in between.
Entering the midship master head there is a marble top vanity with a marble backsplash. The sink is an underhung porcelain basin. There are three panels of mirrors above the vanity and storage below.
At the touch of a button, the electrically-actuated center mirror panel lowers to reveal a large hull side window.
Forward of the vanity is the head compartment with an opening portlight over the electric flush toilet.
Aft of the vanity is the shower enclosure with matching marble on the bulkheads.
The showerhead is a rainfall style with LED lighting built-in.
Forward Master Stateroom
Due to some really unique design features, the forward master stateroom is the choice most owners would make as their preferred master stateroom. Rather than mounting the berth fully forward, as is typical in forward staterooms, the berth is on the centerline of the aft bulkhead and the en-suite head is forward. The forward master stateroom carries the sculpted crushed velvet and dark walnut and lighter wood finishes forward.
The centerline berth is 79” (200.66 cm) long by 68” (172.72 cm) wide. There is 6’6” (1.98 m) headroom from the deck to the overhead. The berth is a comfortable 25” (63.5 cm) above the deck. The large hull side windows provide natural light and extraordinary views.
To port is the desk/vanity with gloss varnished dark walnut counter and storage below. Abaft of the vanity is a mirrored door leading to a hanging locker.
Inside the hanging locker is a safe and an escape ladder. Note the opening portlight just forward.
On the starboard side is another hanging locker with a mirrored door front, not shown. Note the opening portlight just forward of the locker.
Under the starboard window is storage with a gloss-finished countertop. There is a 42” (106.68 cm) flat panel television mounted on the forward bulkhead.
Forward Master En-Suite Head
The forward master's en suite head is forward of the master stateroom and on the same level.
Entering the forward stateroom's en suite head, the double his-and-her sinks are in the vanity directly forward.
The his-and-her underhung porcelain sinks are mounted in a marble countertop with mirror panels above the marble backsplash.
To starboard is a large hull side window with an opening portlight. Note there are privacy blinds mounted in the window frame.
Under the marble countertops are drawers and shelf storage.
Mounted on the forward stateroom's en suite aft bulkhead is the electric flush toilet. The vertical paper holder is to starboard. A large shelf compartment is to port.
There is a large hull side window in the shower compartment. The shower has a wand-style shower head and a rainfall shower head above.
The rainfall shower head has built-in LED lighting.
There is an opening portlight in the head compartment and on the forward bulkhead is shelving for storing shower products.
Guest Staterooms
The two guest staterooms are largely mirror images of each other. Both cabins have twin berths that are all 76” (193.04 cm) long by 26” (66.04 cm) wide and hull side windows. There is open storage and a mirrored door leading to a storage locker.

With the door closed to the hanging locker, there is access to the open shelf storage in the guest stateroom.
One difference in the port guest stateroom is the twin berths are facing aft.
A second difference is that the port guest stateroom twin berths automatically slide together by electrically-actuated sliders.
A third difference is the port guest stateroom has a private access to the day head also on the port side.
Guest and Day Head
The day head located aft of the port guest stateroom serves both guest staterooms.
Like the other heads, the day-head has a vanity with an underhung porcelain sink mounted in a marble countertop and backsplash with a mirror above and storage below. The electric flush toilet is beside the vanity.
The separate walk-in shower has a wand showerhead and an opening portlight.
Storage Room
With any cruising yacht, storage is an important factor to consider. The Absolute Navetta 68 takes this key element to another level. At the base of the companionway stairs there is a large storage room.
Entering the storage room there are shelves and storage drawers. Forward is a mirrored door that leads to additional storage.
Additional walk-in storage is forward with shelf space on both the port and starboard sides.
Crew Space
The Absolute Navetta 68 is designed to be a family-friendly yacht that an owner/operator can manage. However, Absolute provided crew space for those occasions when the owner wants to enjoy their yacht as a guest.
Entering the crew space through the transom door, to starboard is a crew cabin with a single berth and storage cabinets.
A separate cabin on the port side mirrors the starboard side cabin with a single berth and storage cabinets.
On the forward bulkhead is a breaker panel.
Opposite of the breaker panel in the Absolute Navetta 68's crew space is a built-in washer/dryer with a shelf above.
On the starboard side of the entry stairs is refrigerator and freezer drawers with a shelf above.
Forward, between the two crew cabins is a shared wet head with an accordion-style partition.
Built into the starboard side of the crew’s wet head is a vessel sink on a solid surface countertop with storage below and a mirrored cabinet above.
There is an electric flush toilet and a shower wand mounted on the port side. The door forward leads to the mechanical space.
Mechanical Space
Like everything on the Absolute Navetta 68, the mechanical space is well thought out and easily accessed. The headroom is 5’9” (1.75 m) and there is 46” (116.84 cm) between the Volvo Penta IPS1200 pod drive engines.
Egress to the mechanical space on the Absolute Navetta 68 is through the crew’s wet head and through a hatch in the aft deck with a ladder between the two Volvo Penta IPS1200 diesel engines.
On the port side is a workbench with the hydraulic components for the swim platform and windlass mounted over the 29 kW generator. Battery chargers are just ahead with the hot and cold freshwater manifolds below.
One of the two fuel tanks is located on the port side, forward. Note the sight tube mounted outboard on the fuel tank, it might be better served mounted on the inboard side of the fuel tank.
The SeaKeeper 16 gyrostabilizer is strategically mounted on the centerline, forward, between the fuel tanks. Fuel filters are located on the inboard side of both fuel tanks.

Despite a slightly unconventional exterior, the Absolute Navetta 68 is both a sensational boat to operate and comfortable vessel to be on. She has the tight feel that reflects the quality of her build with no creaking of decks or rattling of doors when underway. When close-in maneuvering, the Absolute Navetta handles exceptionally well. Exceedingly spacious both inside and out, the Absolute Navetta 68 is fabulous for family gatherings or when entertaining guests.
