The new CL Yachts CLX99.

Hong Kong-based shipyard CL Yachts has announced a new 100’ (30.5 m) flagship model, the CLX99.

The model's unconventional, workboat exterior and functional ethos draw heavily on CL Yachts' previous flagship, the CLX96 – though the shipyard promises greater interior volume and external space, alongside features refined for the European, Asian and secondary charter markets.

As with the earlier iteration, the model's design is owed to Milan-based Jozeph Forakis.

The yacht accommodates 10 guests and also has space for 10 crewpersons. A main deck master is an alternative option.

Accommodation is across five cabins, including a full-beam master suite, two VIP doubles forward and two twin cabins. Clients can opt for a main deck master suite in place of the forward dining and observation lounge while still retaining five cabins on the lower deck.

The crew area has been extended to accommodate five members – one more than its predecessor – for an even more charter-friendly model.

A 6.5’ (2 m) extension to the main deck has resulted in a reorganized interior complete with a dining room, a galley, multifunctional lounge space and portside access for the crew.

The wheelhouse is separated from the lounge, but guests can easily watch operation of the yacht through the large glass bulkheads.

In terms of interior design, Forakis has opted for a sinuous, organic aesthetic inspired by "the smooth stones [of] pebble beaches". This has influenced the interior lines as well as the choice of materials, per the company.

Other alterations include the beach club, now fitted with drop-down bulwarks and the skylounge, which has been extended by 9.8’ (3 m). There is now also the option for a spa pool on the foredeck.

The swim platform becomes a huge teak beach with the added space from fold-out balconies.

"The skylounge forward bulkhead is essentially largely glass, which not only means the CLX99 retains 360-degree panoramic views, but also means guests can still observe the operation of the yacht," added Forakis.

The upper deck includes a davit and space for a tender aft, as well as a Portuguese bridge forward.

Meanwhile, the model has retained the CLX96's trademark "Terrazza Portoghese" – a secondary, elevated bow terrace that also functions as a seating and sunbathing area forward of the bridge.

The Portuguese bridge provides a great spot for guests to view the sea while underway, while the front deck with an optional spa pool is likely to be the most popular location in the harbor.

Technical specifications are currently undisclosed. The previous flagship was capable of a maximum speed of 25 knots.

CL Yachts was set up in 2017 as a brand of Chinese shipyard Cheoy Lee.
