Vessel Inspection

With 48.885ft/14.90m of length, and 14.436ft/4.4m amidships beam, the De Antonio design and engineering teams have a lot to work with. The result is a yacht featuring several optional interior layouts including additional staterooms and heads depending on an individual owner’s needs.

Bow

From her exciting and dramatic exterior lines, to her modifiable interior, the De Antonio D50 Coupe is all about entertaining. To that end, she presents spaces aboard suitable for both large and intimate gatherings. And it all starts forward, on the bow.

Deep wells, measuring 29”/73.6cm high, to either side of the large sunpad offer a safe and secure passage to and from the bow area.

Seen looking aft, the forward seat, wide walkways, which measure 20”/50.8cm, and width of the sunpad can be seen. An electrically-operated canvas awning is available here as an option and deploys from hardtop.

Given her profile as a cruising yacht, the De Antonio D50 Coupe is equipped with storage compartments throughout and that includes here, just forward of the sunpad, on the bow. The shade for the bow area is stowed here and with a pair of poles forward, and anchoring to the hardtop, allows for manual deployment.

Fully forward is the anchor locker. An easy to lift hatch allows easy access to the windlass and rode.

One of those surprising engineering feats aboard the De Antonio D50 Coupe is found here on the bow. With the push of a button, the sunpad space, pictured here, is transformed into a saltwater jacuzzi. Easily filled and drained, after which the cushions are replaced, this is the kind of option unique to this yacht. Also note the optional hull and seating colors seen here.

Also part of the bow area is this one-piece windshield and extended brow, this to cut down on glare while running on a bright, sunny day.

Cockpit & Helm

Cruising yachts need to have uncomplicated spaces to get around and go from place to place. With her forward wide walkways to either side, and open spaces to the helm and cockpit areas, the De Antonio D50 Coupe affords her owners and guests stress-free access to all parts of the yacht.

Getting on and off the yacht from either side amidships is easily accomplished by simply lifting this black carbon-fiber pole up and out and using the gunwale as a step. Once back in place, the pole is once again a safety rail. Note the wide open spaces aft where access on and off is also located.

Once inside, you are greeted by a large open space featuring a pair of leafed dining tables capable of opening and forming one large table. Seating is to either side and aft. Note the extra-large opening in the hardtop.

Even with limited headroom, the space provides enough working room and ease of access to service the 7 kW Onan generator, AC components, hot water heater, fuel filters, battery management system, and other critical maintenance parts.

Back on deck and moving forward amidships is the starboard galley and port console, each with a refrigerator. The galley offers a cooktop, sink and storage. Note the wide walkway between the two and grabrails on each.

Moving forward to the starboard helm are a pair of bolstered seats, one for the driver and the other for his/her co-pilot.

Directly opposite to port are a pair of bolstered seats as well.

Besides the large opening overhead, additional ventilation here is provided on both sides by these sliding windows.

The sporty-looking helm, following the angular exterior design, offers a console with space for a pair of Simrad touchscreens and has positioned all controls and switches within easy reach for the driver.

Living Accommodations

Accessed via a large sliding door to port of the helm, the below decks space is as stylish and exciting as is her exterior and offers owners and guests several options to fulfill their individual needs. With plenty of storage space, the De Antonio D50 Coupe is well-suited for extended time away.

The main stateroom is located forward and offers a berth measuring 75” x 55”/1.8m x 1.39m and has 6’3”/1.9m of headroom. These dimensions make for spacious accommodations. There is a double-hinged door just aft of the room which closes off the space.

Full length hanging closets are provided to make storing clothing easy and efficient while traveling.

Convenient access to the toilet, in its own separate space, and water closet can be through the stateroom or the head.

The head has a sink, storage cabinet below, and separate shower compartment. There is 6’8”/2.03m of headroom here and a pocket door closes off the space.

The entrance to the lower lounge is via a door aft of the steps. The space is exceptional in that it doubles as a place to hang out while on the hook or, with filler cushions, as an additional sleeping quarters.

Here, with the center piece pushed forward on its track, the lower lounge is now a second stateroom. And with all the floorplans offered as options, your De Antonio D50 Coupe can be easily transformed from a day boat to one capable of spending extended time away.

Aft

In its plan to utilize all available space in order to make the on water experience that much more exciting and available, De Antonio provided the aft end of the D50 Coupe with this large sunpad. But as with a lot of other spaces aboard, there is more than meets the eye.

Measuring 107" x 100"/2.71m x 2.54m, this expansive sunpad is just the start of some of the exciting offerings here.

The first is found under the forward portion of the sunpad and reveals this spacious storage space. Note the heavy duty rams, making opening and closing the lid effortless.

The next is the hidden engine compartment large enough to house up to four 400-hp Mercury outboards. With the engines situated far enough forward, there is an important safety factor for those in the water during anchoring-up time. Note the heavy duty rams which open and close the lid at the push of a button.

Here, with the engine lid in the open position, the usefulness of having the extra-large swim platform is evident. An added option is a hydraulically operated platform and a deck-mounted fresh water flush.

A Word About Performance

Our De Antonio D50 Coupe was equipped with a pair of 600-hp V12 Mercury outboard engines. We reached a top speed of 50.1 mph/43.53 kn, turning 6200 rpm. Our best cruise come in at 4000 rpm with a 29.1 mph/25.29 kn rate of speed. At that speed, we calculated a 235.9 sm range with a 10% reserve of our 396 fuel capacity. While test conditions were basically calm, the double-stepped hull handled our maneuvers quite well, tracking straight and true and under control during turns. And with the motors hidden away, operating the De Antonio D50 Coupe was quiet at all speeds. 

Observations

While the ultra-modern styling might not be for everyone, still, the striking exterior lines of the De Antonio D50 Coupe, one that is carried throughout the model line-up, is the kind that sets her apart from other designs. And with a long list of standard and optional features, she can be outfitted to any individual need, including three different accommodations layouts. Powering the De Antonio D50 Coupe is also a plus. With dual, triple, and even quad Mercury applications, up to 1,600-hp with the latter, exciting performance is throttle-ready.

The De Antonio D50 Coupe is billed as a day boat but with features, both standard and optional, she can more than fulfill any cruisers’ needs for extended weekends or longer voyages.
