Cockpit & Helm

Cruising yachts need to have uncomplicated spaces to get around and go from place to place. With her forward wide walkways to either side, and open spaces to the helm and cockpit areas, the De Antonio D50 Coupe affords her owners and guests stress-free access to all parts of the yacht. 

Living Accommodations

Accessed via a large sliding door to port of the helm, the below decks space is as stylish and exciting as is her exterior and offers owners and guests several options to fulfill their individual needs. With plenty of storage space, the De Antonio D50 Coupe is well-suited for extended time away.

Aft

In its plan to utilize all available space in order to make the on water experience that much more exciting and available, De Antonio provided the aft end of the D50 Coupe with this large sunpad. But as with a lot of other spaces aboard, there is more than meets the eye.

Our De Antonio D50 Coupe was equipped with a pair of 600-hp V12 Mercury outboard engines. We reached a top speed of 50.1 mph/43.53 kn, turning 6200 rpm. Our best cruise come in at 4000 rpm with a 29.1 mph/25.29 kn rate of speed. At that speed, we calculated a 235.9 sm range with a 10% reserve of our 396 fuel capacity. While test conditions were basically calm, the double-stepped hull handled our maneuvers quite well, tracking straight and true and under control during turns. And with the motors hidden away, operating the De Antonio D50 Coupe was quiet at all speeds. 

While the ultra-modern styling might not be for everyone, still, the striking exterior lines of the De Antonio D50 Coupe, one that is carried throughout the model line-up, is the kind that sets her apart from other designs. And with a long list of standard and optional features, she can be outfitted to any individual need, including three different accommodations layouts. Powering the De Antonio D50 Coupe is also a plus. With dual, triple, and even quad Mercury applications, up to 1,600-hp with the latter, exciting performance is throttle-ready.

Overview

Founded in 2012 in Barcelona, Spain, De Antonio Yachts builds minimalist, angular day boats ranging from 23 to 60 feet. The D50 Coupe features an ultra-modern aesthetic and concealed outboard engine integration.

Bow Features & Walkways

The bow centers around a standard 72-inch by 75-inch sun pad, which buyers can opt to replace with a button-operated, seawater-filled splash pool or jacuzzi. Forward of this is reverse seating for social gatherings, with under-seat storage housing two carbon fiber poles and a shade that attaches to the T-top. Built-in drains allow this storage space to double as an ice box.

Anchor locker: Electric windlass, chain storage, fender storage, flush-mounted side cleats, and an extended anchor arm roller. Captain Shelley highlighted the plumb bow's design functionality: "A traditional hull, when you're in bigger waves, that hull is gonna need to displace a decent amount of water and so you'll get some banging as you go along, whereas this plumb bow, because it's just straight up and down, you slice right through."

Walkways to the bow: 29-inch gunwale height, 20-inch width.

Windshield: Single-piece glass with dual wipers and an extra-long brow designed to eliminate mid-day helm glare.

Midship fender clip system: Uses a removable carbon fiber pole that converts into a boarding step.

Midship Galley & Main Deck Overhead

Headroom to the hardtop overhead: 7 feet.

Galley: Twin burners, a freshwater sink, storage drawers, and a large refrigerator. Adjacent: a dedicated cocktail prep area with a secondary refrigerator.

Upholstery: All seating uses Mo Burn Sundance fabric. Captain Eric Brandon noted this material is "cool to the touch, no rot, no fade, repels water, really is cushy and comfy."

Ventilation: Manual opening side windows and skylights provide cross ventilation and natural lighting.

Lower Deck Accommodations & Lounge

Access to the lower deck is assisted by a stainless steel grab rail.

Master Suite

Headroom: 6 feet, 3 inches. Berth: 75 by 55 inches, with walk-around clearance on both sides. Storage includes a large under-bed drawer and mirror-backed hanging lockers. The suite can be completely partitioned off using a double-hinged locking door.

Head & Walk-In Shower

Headroom: 6 feet, 8 inches. Uses a split-space design where the water closet is housed in its own compartment, accessible from both the master suite and the shower space. The primary bathroom area includes an accordion pocket door, a separate walk-in shower, a pedestal sink, vanity storage, and a mirror.

Port-Side Utility Area

Headroom: 6 feet, 8 inches. Sliding cabinet doors house a refrigerator, cubby storage, a fire extinguisher mount, and electrical outlets. An integrated step-countertop leads down to the lower deck, with main electrical panels and generator controls located underneath.

Convertible Lower Lounge

Positioned midship with 5 feet, 2 inches of headroom (sloping lower toward the aft). Serves as an indoor day lounge with hull-side windows, drawers, cubbies, lighting, and power outlets.

Captain Shelley noted: "All De Antonio boats, even this large D50, are designed as day boats. And to have two cabins on a day boat is kind of superfluous at [times]. So this is such a cool use of this space."

The central lounge module rests on a track to keep it secure in heavy seas and slides out to convert into a secondary double berth.

Cockpit, Mechanical Space & Transom

Cockpit

U-shaped seating with pull-out corner seats and an expandable dining table with integrated drink holders, all shaded by the extended hardtop.

Mechanical Space

Located under a hatch beneath the cockpit table; the compartment provides space for kneeling and working. Components include:

• Onan generator and AC systems
• Hot water heater, fuel filters, and pump access (starboard)
• Battery management system and freshwater washdown hose (port)
• Stainless steel fuel tank (forward)
• Sea strainers and water tanks

Transom & Under-Deck Garage

Aft sun pad: 107 inches wide by 100 inches long, seating four, with central cup holders.

Hidden garage (beneath sun pad): 9 feet wide by 5 feet, 11 inches deep, fitted with shade pole mounts, a 110-volt outlet for charging water toys (such as SeaBobs), and standing room for an adult.

Swim platform: Full-beam, reached via two 10-inch steps, measuring 162 inches wide by 55 inches deep (an optional high-low hydraulic system is available).

Propulsion & Enclosed Outboard System

The D50 conceals its outboard engines beneath the aft sun pad, keeping the swim platform fully open and propellers isolated from swimmers. Manual engine flushing inside the hatch can be tight; De Antonio provides an optional deck-mounted freshwater flush inlet as an alternative.

Engine options: Quad 400-horsepower configuration (1,600 hp total) yields top speeds of 58 mph. The test vessel was equipped with twin 600-horsepower Mercury V12 outboards.

Noise: Captain Shelley remarked on sound attenuation while running: "Typically the Mercury 600s, they're quiet anyway, but on the D50 with the sun pad covering them, I'm not hearing any engine noise at all."

Helm Station

Tilt steering wheel, centerline compass, and carbon fiber dash panel.

Suggested improvement: Captain Shelley noted a desire for mobile device USB/charging outlets to be added inside the dash storage cubby.

Performance Numbers

Tested in open water with dual 600-horsepower Mercury V12 outboards:

• Top speed: 50.1 mph at 6,200 RPM
• Best cruise: 29.1 mph at 4,000 RPM
• Fuel burn at best cruise: 43.1 gallons per hour
• Fuel economy at best cruise: 0.7 miles per gallon
• Range: 235.9 statute miles, with a 10% reserve of the 396-gallon total fuel capacity

Handling & Sea Trial Performance

In sharp maneuvers, Captain Shelley noted: "The boat really does turn really quickly... as you make those harder, sharper turns, I did notice that it tends to bleed off speed just a little bit."
