Overview
Four Winns focused on versatility with the Vista V255, creating four different seating/lounging configurations and a small galley in the cockpit and providing sleeping space for at least four in the cabin. Thanks to the boat’s tall sheer line, she has good headroom below decks, and the cabin is illuminated by a total of seven windows, including those in the folding doors. She’s available with a single twin-prop sterndrive from MerCruiser or Volvo Penta up to 300-hp and comes standard with a custom-matched tandem-axle trailer.

Features Inspection
Crowd Pleaser.
Four Winns says the Vista 255’s cockpit can be set up in four different seating configurations. Let’s take a closer look. To accommodate the most passengers in what we would call the most conventional layout, the backrest for the aft seat is positioned for forward-facing travel, and the aft-facing forward port lounge extends aft to the bench. Forward in the port console, there are two cup holders and a stainless-steel grabrail.

Rear View.
Flip the backrest for the aft bench seat forward, and there’s space for at least two people to hangout comfortably on the stern lounge. It would be a great place for Mom and Dad to relax while watching the kids swim. The boat comes standard with a built-in swim platform, and an extended model is an available option.

Al Fresca Dining.
When it’s time for lunch, the aft section of the lounge that runs along the port gunwale can be folded out into the cockpit. It forms an L and creates an aft-facing bench. Install the portable table in the base of the stern lounge to create a four-person dinette. The cockpit galley comes with a sink and storage for a 36-quart (34 L) cooler in the base and a Corian countertop, a cooktop and a refrigerator are available options.

Soak Up The Rays.
In the final configuration of the Vista V255’s cockpit, the headrest for the aft bench can lie flat to fill in the gap between the seat and the port seat to create a large lounge for serious sun worshipping. Regardless of the seating configuration, there is storage in the port side seat bases. Cup holders and speakers are in the gunwale trays.

The Helm.
To starboard forward of the wet bar, the helm has what we would call a 1 ½-person-wide seat, so one of the kids can join Mom or Dad when driving. The seat has a fold-up bolster, so the driver can choose between sitting or standing, and there is storage in the base.
The Vista V255 comes standard with the appropriate engine monitoring gauges, and a Raymarine A77 chartplotter is an available option. Accessory switches are to port of the wheel, which leaves space to starboard for the trim tab buttons. The dash is finished in dark upholstery that gives the boat an upscale appearance and reduces glare.

The Foredeck.
Adjacent to the helm, there are steps that lead up to the Vista V255’s foredeck. Because the boat’s bow doesn’t come to a sharp point, the bow has plenty of space to move on the nonskid surface. There are bowrails with a forward opening to make it easy to work with grounding tackle, for which there is a dedicated locker.

Below Decks
The Dinette/V-Berth.
Folding acrylic hatches between the foredeck steps and port console open to provide entry into the Vista V255’s cabin area. Forward the dinette has space for at least four people to sit around the table. There is storage in the base beneath removable cushions, and, when the time comes to relax, the table can be lowered to convert the area to a V-berth that is 6’8” (2.03 m) at its longest and a maximum of 4’ (1.22 m) wide.

The Galley.
The cabin galley comes standard with a sink and countertop in a choice of colors and storage. When an owner orders the optional Dockside Power Package the galley gets upgraded with a microwave oven and a refrigerator. A long horizontal window lets light into the galley area, and removable shades can be secured in all the windows to keep out light at night.

The Head.
Directly across from the galley, the head has 6’3” (1.9 m) of headroom and a pull-up faucet at the sink so a passenger could take a shower. The boat comes standard with a portable head and it can be upgraded to an electric model. There is towel storage in the compartment, and a port lets in natural light. Just aft of the hatch for the head, there are two storage shelves.

The Aft Cabin.
Curtains close off the aft cabin, which has a berth that measures 6’11” (2.11 m) long and 4’6” (1.37 m) wide. Installing the engine as far aft in the boat as possible lets Four Winns create large storage lockers abaft the berth. Outboard to port, there is an area where the headliner is raised so that an adult can sit up comfortably. It gives the area a more open feel than on many pocket cruisers in this size range.

Trailer.
The Vista V255 has an 8’5” (2.55 m) beam, which makes her a candidate for towing without a permit, so Four Winns packages the boat with a low-profile tandem-axle bunk trailer designed for this particular model. To protect against corrosion, the trailer is sprayed with a polyurethane finish. It comes with side guides for easier loading, all welded closed-box steel construction, non-marking bow rollers, a swing-away tongue, heavy-duty tongue jack, bearing protectors, disc brakes, LED submersible lights, and fixed tie-down straps.

Warranty.
Five years on structural components of hull and deck. One year against osmotic blistering.

Observations
The Vista V255 should appeal to boating families who like to spend the night beached or on the hook. For her size, she has good headroom below decks, and with the cockpit lounges laid out in the sun lounge positions and optional camper canvas, she can sleep up to six.
The Four Winns Vista V255 weighs 6,175 lbs. (2,801 kg) with power and comes packaged with a trailer, so an owner can haul the boat to different locations for new family adventures.
