New Upscale CC for Offshore Angling/Inshore Dayboating
The Regulator 25 is an all-new offshore center console replacing the venerable 26 that started the Regulator journey for Joan and Owen Maxwell in North Carolina’s low country some 35 years ago.
The company built a 25 from 2015 to 2021, but the new 25 is a clean-slate new boat. Like other recent models, it’s a full-transom, high freeboard design with Carolina sheer from Lou Codega.
While the primary mission is obviously offshore fishing, the 25 will also function nicely as a family dayboat, with premium two-tone lounge style seating forward, flip-down transom seat and a head in the console. Draft is just 22” drives up.
Yamaha tested this model with 2x 250’s turning 15 ¼ x 19 conventional stainless steel 3-blade propellers and got a max of 55.9 mph and best cruise of 31.8 at 3500 rpm, where the engines got 1.75 mpg combined.
For those seeking a premium-class, trailerable CC with offshore capabilities, the new Regulator 25 will be well worth considering.
