A Vision of Evolution and Innovation

SX120 represents Sanlorenzo’s commitment to both product evolution and groundbreaking innovation. It is the first composite yacht to feature the pioneering new IPS (Inboard Performance System) Professional Platform, developed by Volvo Penta – a project first presented in Düsseldorf in 2024. This innovative system utilizes twin 1,000 HP engines per pod, delivering the performance of larger engines with a smaller footprint, reduced fuel consumption, and lower emissions. Its introduction is fully aligned with Sanlorenzo's pathway to reducing environmental impact, a testament to their commitment and promotion of sustainability in the nautical sector.

This innovative propulsion platform allows for the achievement of certainly unique design solutions related to the use of efficient PODs drive even on large yachts."

Unprecedented Spaces

The perfect conceptual and formal balance between the boat's exteriors and interiors stems from the collaboration with Zuccon International Project and Piero Lissoni, who enhance with their usual elegance and mastery all the potential of this yacht with its essential and sophisticated design.

"The Sanlorenzo SX120 is a project that is a manifesto of the evolutionary path that the SX range has taken in recent years. A journey that - with SX88, SX76, SX112 and then SX100 - has unequivocally demonstrated the concept's ability to decline in different dimensions. An evolution that has not limited itself to recalibrating the proportions of a basic design but has led to the creation of boats with their own identities, equipped with features and design solutions that justify the positioning of each model within the range," commented Bernardo Zuccon, Zuccon International Project.

Articulated on four decks, the SX120 is characterized by a total rethinking of space, highlighted by an impressive aft cockpit.

• Expansive Beach Area: A 40 sqm beach area extends up to 70 sqm thanks to opening side terraces, offering maximum connection with the marine environment through convenient water access on three sides.
• Retractable Pool: A unique pop-up pool is seamlessly integrated into the beach area, with a lift and slide sundeck mechanism for coverage, ensuring optimal sailing conditions, privacy, and aesthetic usability.
• Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Flow: A few steps connect the beach area with a large, cozy, and bright lounge, serving as an ideal continuation of the outdoor space.
• Flexible Lower Deck: Houses four guest cabins, one of which can convert between a lounge and a cabin, a small hammam, and the crew area.
• Main Deck Salon: A vast salon enveloped in natural light, featuring a magnificent sculptural wooden staircase by Piero Lissoni that fluidly connects the decks.
• Aft Dining Area: Located on the Main Deck, open on three sides, accommodating up to 14 guests.
• Private Master Bedroom: The forward part of the Main Deck is dedicated to a bright master bedroom with a sea view and direct access to a bow space that can be equipped as a sundeck or patio – a layout typically found only on much larger yachts.
• Flexible Upper Deck: Offers an amazing 360-degree horizon view and a spacious interior that can transform into a dining area, media room, or play room as per owner's request.
• Innovative Flybridge/Sun Deck: Connected to the Upper Deck via an external staircase, the Flybridge is transformed into an elegant Sun Deck, featuring a "Smart Island" modular seating system for ultimate privacy and customization.

Sustainable Performance

The generous aft spaces aboard the SX120 are a tangible result of a technological evolution aiming to redesign the standards of contemporary yachting. For the first time ever, this unit is equipped with Volvo Penta's IPS Professional Platform, unveiled at the 2024 Düsseldorf boat show.

• Compact & Optimized Propulsion: This platform, designed for the modular integration of both traditional and alternative energy sources, stands out for its extreme compactness and optimized propulsion architecture.
• Increased Interior Volume: These features significantly reduce the engine room space, freeing up valuable volumes that can be repurposed for owners, guests, and crew during the design phase.
• Enhanced Maneuverability: "From the propulsion point of view,” says Nicola Pomi, VP Marine Sales Yacht and Superyacht Division, "Volvo Penta's IPS Professional platform represents a technological evolution geared toward efficiency. The system makes use of steerable units and hydrodynamically optimized counter-rotating propellers, which allow a significant reduction in energy losses and a marked improvement in maneuverability, especially at low speeds."
• Eco Mode Function: A new smart feature that automatically adjusts engine power based on real-time demand to optimize fuel consumption, reduce emissions, and extend service/maintenance intervals.
• Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR): The propulsion is equipped with an SCR exhaust gas treatment system, further reducing harmful emissions.
• Environmental Benefits: Lower specific fuel consumption, reduced harmful emissions, and decreased noise levels contribute positively to both the marine environment and onboard comfort, aligning with Sanlorenzo and Volvo’s vision for more sustainable yachting.
