“Performance and innovation continue to define the Tiara Yachts brand, and the 39 LS is a testament to that legacy,” said Tom Slikkers, CEO at Tiara Yachts. “With expanded power and range, the 39 LS is built for exceptional capability and adventure. We’re confident our customers will be inspired by what the 39 LS can do, and even more thrilled by where it can take them.”

Walkthrough Video Transcript

Overview

Captain Tripp filmed this walkthrough on an overcast, rainy morning: "It may be a dreary rainy morning, but it's still good enough to get on this 39 LS by Tiara." The 39 LS replaces the 38 LS, incorporating new upgrades throughout.

Power / Transom (Cowling Design)

Twin 600 engines. Captain Tripp noted the cowlings on the 600s do not turn, which frees additional swim platform space: "You have that extra space back here on the swim platform... it's a solid piece all the way across the swim platform."

Aft Lounge Module (Multi-Use)

Located at the swim platform level, includes options for a single Kenyon grill, a refrigerator/freezer, or a livewell (livewell configuration on the test boat). Additional storage is present underneath.

Rotating function: The lounge module rotates 180 degrees, with a lock at the 45-degree "terrace" position. Captain Tripp demonstrated the mechanism: "If you wanna enjoy the terrace... it will lock at 45 degrees. So now maybe you're at anchor, beautiful spot, drop the terrace. You have a lot of lounging all the way around, but if you want to face all the way aft, push the button one more time, continue to spin... once she gets to 180, she locks in place again."

Aft Seating (Major 39 LS Change)

Captain Tripp identified this as one of the significant updates for this model: "This AF [aft] seating, which is the main focus point or really where you want to sit if you wanna be very comfortable."

Configuration options:

  • A table sets into place, with pop-up "arms" (extensions) providing additional seating
  • Table can be removed to convert the space into one large lounger
  • Center cushion flips up and turns over completely, creating a flat surface for drinks, magazines, or books when the table isn't deployed

Shade / Climate at Aft Seating

Captain Tripp noted comfort under the hardtop with AC blowing: "I'm gonna be comfortable right here where I'm sitting 'cause I'm under the hardtop and I've got some air conditioning blowing up my lower back right now."

Additional shade: A push-button sunshade extends from the hardtop over the aft deck/cockpit.

Garmin camera: Mounted on the back of the hardtop, viewable via the helm MFDs, providing a view aft of the boat.

Mechanical Space Access

A large deck hatch underfoot opens to reveal a ladder leading down to the mechanical space. Captain Tripp's assessment: "There's quite a bit of room, and I can see everything is easy to access and labeled. So if you need to get down there to work on some maintenance items or do some daily checks, you can do it without a problem."

Additional Deck Storage

A hatch behind this area provides access to storage or a fish box — noted as macerated (pump-out capable). A side boarding door is also fitted for easy dock access.

Starboard (Behind Helm Seat)

A fridge/freezer compartment, in freezer mode at time of filming (with visible frost).

Gunwale Storage (Approaching Helm)

Storage for lines is built into the gunwale, though Captain Tripp suggested an alternative use: "I think maybe even a better idea might be hoses, because there's a fresh and raw water hookup in there. So if you want a hose that's centrally located midship of the boat, so it can rinse both fore and aft, you can store it right here."

Helm Station — Refrigeration/Storage

Two additional refrigerators (which can also function as freezers) below the helm seats. A centerline compartment provides dedicated trash can storage — Captain Tripp noted this as uncommon: "You don't really see that on day boats very much. I like seeing dual trash and storage and dedicated storage for those."

Helm Seating

Three helm seats, bolstered, with armrests. Captain Tripp's build-quality assessment: "Everything is built really well when you're on a Tiara boat, which is always nice to see. It's always flimsy... you do unfortunately see sometimes [on other boats]."

Helm Visibility and Standing Platform

Captain Tripp praised the sightlines: "Visibility here is gonna be fantastic, not only because I have an almost uninterrupted view with the supports for the hardtop, but because there is a tiered footrest down here."

Convertible standing platform: Releasing a latch drops the footrest down to create an elevated standing platform for better visibility while underway or docking — positioned just under the hardtop.

Ventilation: A pop-up hatch provides extra airflow, supplemented by skylights at the helm.

Helm Dash Layout

Captain Tripp's overall impression: "Visually, there's not a lot going on here, which I like. It's not just a cluttered mess."

  • MFDs tucked into the dash
  • Fusion audio system controls
  • Centerline-mounted compass
  • Joystick for the twin 600s, positioned within easy reach
  • Bow thruster (variable, with a hold mode) — Captain Tripp: "If you get against the dock, you can hold yourself there. That's a pretty handy feature."
  • Hidden wireless induction charger tucked under the woodwork
  • AC vents throughout, cup holders, and a small cubby for small items
  • Simplified MFD interface — Captain Tripp: "One thing I like that Tiara is doing is they're keeping things simple. There's not a lot of colors, not a lot of jazz on here. You can see what you need, and it's easy to select it."
  • TV control button, for a TV mounted in the hardtop

Cabin — Design Changes vs. the 38 LS

Beyond added length and beam, Captain Tripp noted Tiara reduced cabinetry protrusion into the cabin: "A little bit less cabinetry. It doesn't protrude out into the cabin quite as much. So you have more elbow room and space in here, but you still have quite a bit of storage that Tiara has tucked away just about everywhere."

Dedicated small-appliance space: A compartment sized for instant coffee makers (e.g., a Keurig), pull-out for countertop use. Additional microwave and storage nearby.

Forward Cabin (Queen Berth)

Captain Tripp noted headroom is decent at the aft end of the berth but reduces moving forward — still assessed as sufficient for comfortable sleeping.

Starboard side: Port light and a TV.

Port side: Storage and cubbies along the side, plus a pop-up electrical outlet with USB and 110-volt charging.

Forward of the berth: Two cubbies for small overnight items.

Headboard detail: Captain Tripp noted decorative inlay/routing work even in this tucked-away spot: "Tiara thought about, hey, let's even make that small spot, which is tucked away — let's add some elegance there."

Head (Starboard) — Upgrade vs. 38 LS

Captain Tripp identified this as another notable improvement: "Along the starboard side, we'll find another upgrade to the 39 compared to the 38, and that is a dedicated shower. It's not a wet head, which everyone's gonna appreciate."

Features: Decent room, ample overhead clearance, a shower wand, small storage cubby, and a bench seat. Vanity with sink further forward.

Storage (specifically noted): Two drawers — Captain Tripp reacted to this directly during filming: "That's something that I noticed immediately when I was going through the boat first and I [was] pulling out the drawers. I'm thinking, wow, you don't really see a lot of drawers in a head that is this size." He connected this to the boat's intended use: "That just kind of goes to show that Tiara really wanted to make this a bit of a weekend cruising boat, because you have storage for all your small items, so they're not just strewn around the boat in random places."

Ventilation: A window with a port light for additional airflow.

Aft Berth (Under Cockpit)

Limited headroom, but assessed by Captain Tripp as sufficient for comfortable sleeping for two kids or a second couple on an overnighter.

Cabin Finish (General)

Captain Tripp's overall assessment: "The luxurious finishes continue throughout the cabin with upholstery along the side, fine woodwork." He specifically noted the air conditioning performance in humid conditions during filming: "A lot of air conditioning down here. I'm really feeling it pumping, which feels fantastic in this humid weather."

Additional cabin details: Overhead strip lighting, padded upholstery throughout, a reading light, extra storage, and another pop-up electrical charger with USB and 110-volt outlets.

Bow

Ample room and a grab rail alongside, despite worsening weather during filming.

Seating: Forward-facing seating at a table, plus a side lounger, with cup holders, USB charging, and generous padding throughout. Captain Tripp noted he would have sat down to demonstrate but for the rain.

Additional bow features: Storage underneath the seating, accent track lighting throughout the boat, and a dedicated Fusion radio control at the bow — allowing independent audio zone control from the rest of the boat.

Anchor Locker (New for 39 LS)

Captain Tripp identified another change from the 38 LS: "One other change... in the anchor locker. And yes, it is still an anchor locker, but they added a nice touch, and that's a light. So if you're doing some anchoring operations at [the] dark, you can see what you're doing and do it safely."

Elevated Port Walkway

The port-side forward walkway is intentionally elevated — Captain Tripp explained this design choice: "They do that intentionally, and that's to make room for the cabin inside, increase that interior volume."

Closing Assessment

Captain Tripp: "I appreciate you guys taking this tour of Tiara's new 39 LS. I wanna remind you that life is always better on a boat."
