There is a Boat Buying Frenzy

chart-trade-only.png

Baird Research, which surveys dealer confidence, shows what is going on at dealerships around the country. The red line indicates current dealer sentiment. Reprinted from Soundings Trade Only.

From all over the country, we are now getting reports that a boat buying frenzy is playing out at many dealerships. From runabouts and center consoles to large express and flybridge cruisers and motoryachts, boats are selling at a fast pace, and many dealers are running out of inventory. Builders of large boats in the $1 to $2 million range report that nationwide inventory is often in single digits, and in some cases only a couple of boats are available for immediate delivery. One financial institution is saying its boat loan business is up 31%. BoatTEST has seen a huge spike in boat research on its website, something echoed by virtually all major online classified services. Read all about it...

Cabo 41:

Easy to Own Express Fishboat

cabo-41-060120.png

The Cabo 41’s engine compartment feels like one found on larger boats.

Like most Express Fish boats in her size range, the Cabo 41 is going to be operated and maintained primarily by her owner. It’s clear that the manufacturer emphasized this in the engine room. There’s 6’3” (1.91 m) of headroom and 2’11” (.89 m) between the 715-hp Cummins diesels. All fluid checks and systems monitors are easily accessible as are the through-hulls and sea strainers. Bowrider Designed to Perform

Chaparral 277 SSX

Chaparral Boats’ Extended V-Plane Bottom on boats like the 277 SSX has endured because it works. The design extends the running surface aft past the transom and under the swim platform. It acts like a built-in trim tab, leveling the bow more quickly under acceleration and providing a better ride when the water gets bumpy. Powered by a 350-hp MerCruiser 6.2L V8 sterndrive, the 6,100-lb (2,767 kg) 277 SSX planed in 3.6 seconds and hit 20 mph in 5.4 seconds and 30 mph in 7.5 seconds. More...
