MasterCraft NXT22:
Ilmor-Powered Wake Boat
With the towsports segment continuing to attract customers, MasterCraft has redesigned its NXT22 for 2020. Upgrades to the new model include a more powerful 373-hp Ilmor 6.0L MPI engine, and MasterCraft is the only builder in class that is powered by Ilmor engines. For those who may not know, Ilmor is part of the Penske Group. The NXT22 has a 16-person passenger capacity. The Gen 2 surf system carries 2,700 lbs (1,224.70 kg) of ballast and the wave profiles can be controlled by an optional 7” (17.78 cm) touchscreen at the helm. Elegant, Fast Center Console
Fountain’s 43 NX is the largest of Fountain’s new luxury center consoles. The boat can be used for fishing, but with the multiple tones and textures and varying thicknesses of padding in the lounges, it’s clear that this interior is designed for luxuriating. Cruising amenities include chaise lounges on the front of the console, a dive door aft to starboard and backrests for the bow seats. At the helm, there are triple 16” (40.64 cm) multifunction displays plus three individual high-backed seats. Belowdecks, the cabin has 6’7” (2.0 m) of headroom, a small galley, a private head and a queen berth. On the water, the 17,288-lb (7,841.7 kg) twin-stepped boat powered by quad Mercury 400-hp outboards hit a top speed of 73.4 mph at 6650 rpm. More...

It can easily happen on the East Coast north of Boston where the cold water currents coming down from the north meet warm moist air blowing up from the south. Fog can also be a hazard on the West Coast so no matter the location, a captain needs to be prepared to cope with it. More...
