Overview
The Florida-built SeaVee 340Z is an offshore fishing machine, rigged to carry all the critical gear anglers need for a successful day on the water. BoatTEST’s Captain tested her with triple Evinrude E-TEC G2 300-hp outboards.
“The triple outboards, combined with a two-step hull, give the 340Z the performance to target blue water game fish.”

| RPM | MPH | GPH | Economy | Range (SM) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trolling | 6.2 | — | 2.9 nmpg | — |
| 4,000 | 35.8 | 31 | 1.2 mpg | 379 |
| 5,800 | 57.9 | — | — | — |
Acceleration:
- Time To Plane: 4.8 seconds
- 0–20 mph: 5.9 seconds
Engine Highlights:
- Direct-injection two-strokes with more low and mid-range torque than four-strokes
- Integral steering in the midsection, with no outside steering rams or hydraulic lines
- Direct in-cylinder fuel injection, timed to limit unburned fuel in the exhaust
- Engine Management Module that measures fuel for optimal combustion
- Stratified combustion at low rpm for efficiency, switching to homogeneous combustion at wide-open throttle for peak power, according to Evinrude
“Since fishermen spend 40 percent of their time at trolling speed or idle, the savings in fuel and the extra range provided by the Evinrude G2 engines is remarkable.”
