Sirena Yachts 88:

New Design w/Expansive Flying Bridge

sirena-yachts-88-092820.png

To give an idea of how big the Sirena 88’s flying bridge is, the table to starboard measures 8’10” (2.69 m) long.

The Sirena Yachts 88 we tested and inspected has one of the largest flying bridges we’ve seen on a motoryacht in this class and size range. There’s 7’ (2.13 m) of headroom under the hardtop and integrated into that top is an electrically-powered sunroof that measures 8’ by 9’ (2.44 m by 2.74 m). The bar to port has a granite countertop, a sink, a refrigerator and a grill. Heck, there’s even a hot tub aft the bar. To starboard, there’s seating space for 10 people around an exquisitely-finished table. More...

Fairline Targa 65 GT:

Focused on Larger Gathering Areas

fairline-targa-65gt-092820.png

The Targa 65 GT’s salon has an open feel thanks to the smart use of windows and varnish.

On the Fairline Targa 65 GT, designer Alberto Mancini addressed a desire that many clients had expressed. They wanted larger gathering and entertaining areas, so Mancini maximized the use of windows, requested additional coats of varnish on the wood in the interior to increase luster and used strategically placed lighting to create a more open feel in the salon. He also recommended the use of more loose furniture pieces so they can be placed as the situation demands. More...

Yamaha VX Limited:

Well-Built and Well-Rounded

yamaha-vx-limited-092820.jpg

Yamaha VX Limited

Yamaha builds its VX Limited as well as its other Waverunners with NanoXcel technology that the company says creates a lighter, stronger boat. It starts life as a flexible sheet of a material similar to plastic. When it’s put under extreme pressure, it becomes solid and extremely strong. In the case of the VX Limited, a machine press creates the shape of the hull. When the two parts of the press come together, the hull is formed as a solid piece. When the two halves of the press pull away, the light, strong hull is ready to hit the water. The combination of the hull and the powerful TR-1 engine create an adrenalized ride and the VX Limited comes well equipped with a tube, towline, storage bag, 12-volt inflator and even a solar battery charger. Boating News of the Week: Episode #24

BTR-Ep24.jpeg

The largest single type of fiberglass boat built these days is the center console – over 35,000 were sold last year. While they might seem simple and look all the same at a boat show, the fact is that they are all quite different. They are not cheap, and that is why buyers of them would be wise to watch our video “Buyer’s Guide to Center Consoles” narrated by Capt. Steve.
