Vessel Inspection

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage floor plan

With a safe and easy bow to stern passageway, the Boston Whaler 330 Vantage offers the kind of floor plan designed to enhance your day out on the water.

Bow

With her LOA of 33’, the design team made sure all available space would be utilized to its fullest. Aboard the Boston Whaler 330 Vantage, it all starts in the bow.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage bow seating

The bow seating offers a pair of lounges to either side, both the fold down armrests. With the table lowered and a filler cushion in place, the bow becomes a large sunpad. Note the well-placed stereo speakers and in-deck fishbox.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage under seat storage

Plentiful under seat stowage is found here as well. The front compartment is insulated and can be used as a drink cooler.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage stainless beach boarding ladder

The stainless beach boarding ladder is located in the anchor locker along with the windlass, remote, and rode. The rod holder seen here, as well as that to port, can be used for the bow shade whose aft section secures to the hardtop. There is also a fresh water rinse located here.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage full glass windshield

Adding to the ease of getting fore and aft is this full glass windshield with center open and close sections. A gas-assisted, heavy duty strut allows for easy operations. It also locks into place. A lower door completes the package.

Helm

With the convenience of the bow-to-stern, walk-through design, accessing the starboard helm is made safe and easy. Also found here is plenty of well-planned seating, making the space quite useable whether underway, at anchor, or having an informal gathering in the dock after a day out on the water.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage helm

Seen here with the optional dual 12" Simrad touchscreens, the Boston Whaler 330 Vantage offers a helm with all the bells and whistles. As can readily be seen, all controls, switches, and other operating features are within easy reach.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage helm area

The entire helm area seating consists of the single, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, double companion to port, aft of that convertible seating, and opposite, bench seating. There is storage beneath the seat, with the bench offering an insulated section for use as a cooler, and the hardtop affords plenty of shade. Note the single, wide pathway leading to the bow.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage hardtop features an optional, electrically operated SureShade

The hardtop features an optional, electrically operated SureShade which when deployed, will cover the cockpit.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage with seats configured the space becomes a large lounge area

Here, with the seats configured, the space becomes a large lounge area. Note the standard table in the down position. Once deployed, it serves as a two-person dining space.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage dining space

Easily stored in its own dedicated space, this pedestal table transforms the seating area into a four-person dining space.

Cabin & Head

Getting a proper cabin and head aboard a 33-footer is often a daunting task but Boston Whaler’s engineering and design teams figured out that placing one to port and the other to starboard on the 330 Vantage is the best solution.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage cabin

Allotting space aboard a 33-foot day boat is a challenge but Boston Whaler found a solution for its 330 Vantage. With separate entrances for the starboard cabin and port head, design and engineering teams were able to create adequate space for each. Here, the air conditioned cabin, accessed on the starboard bulkhead of the helm, offers a 19” entranceway, 43” of headroom, and storage beneath the seat. A filler cushion makes this one large space measuring 75” x 30”.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage head

Access to the head is to port and offers generous space for this area. With 64.5” of headroom and a hot/cold shower attached to the sink faucet, this enclosed head, also air conditioned, will come in handy during those long day out on the water.

Cockpit & Transom

Given her profile as a day boat possessing possible overnight or weekend opportunities, Boston Whaler provided the 330 Vantage with several additions to make this doable.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage summer kitchen option

With her cockpit measuring 40” x 99”, and given her profile as a day boat, the Boston Whaler 330 Vantage offers this practical option of a summer kitchen. It has a sink, Kenyon grill, storage, and a pull out refrigerator drawer.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage extra seating

If having the transom kitchen is not on your needed list, extra seating can be added with this fold-up bench.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage fish boxes

For those times when fishing is on the agenda, there are a pair of in-deck fish boxes. That large hatch between them gains access to the machinery space.

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage livewell

Regardless of the transom choice, the 17-gallon livewell is standard.

A Word About Performance

Boston Whaler 330 Vantage engine comparison graph

This Mercury supplied graph shows the engine performance comparison between twin 300-hp V8 and 400-hp V10 outboards.

Our test Boston Whaler 330 Vantage was equipped with twin 400-hp V10 Verado and a pair of 22-pitch, Rev X props. She had an approximate displacement of 15,026 pounds with two people on board and 30% of her 285 gallon fuel capacity. The air temperature was 78º F, relative humidity measured 88%, and seas were calm with 5 knots of wind.

She handled all commands well, was responsive to the helm, and we noted no slipping on tight turns and maneuvers and felt in control at all times especially at high speed. Our top speed, at 6250 rpm, was 52.4 mph, with a best cruise of 37.7 mph turning 4500 rpm. At that rate, our Boston Whaler 330 Vantage had a range of 258 statute miles with a 10% fuel reserve. All in all, impressive results for an impressive 33-foot day boat.

Observations

With her deck layout offering easy, and safe, passage from bow to stern, an overabundance of seating opportunities, this is one day boat designed and engineered to maximize your time out on the water, whether it be gunkholing, fishing, or cruising, the Boston Whaler 330 Vantage will deliver all this and a lot more.
