Boat Inspection

Cockpit and Transom

From bow to stern, and everywhere in between, the design and engineering teams at Boston Whaler planned to provide everything any 380 Realm owner, and their family and friends, would want in a boat of this size and profile.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm cockpit and transom

This 380 Realm is equipped with twin 600-hp Mercury V12 outboards. Her cockpit area offers plenty of space for fishing and seating. Note the stainless dive ladder used with the port boarding door and conveniently stored under the fold-down transom bench seat.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm port door

Safe and easy on and off, whether from the dock or while participating in water sports, is via the beefy port door. The stainless deck fitting secures the dive ladder.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm al fresco dining space

With the bench seat deployed, and a pair of teak tables set up, the cockpit is easily transformed into a comfortable al fresco dining space. The tables are easily stored under the large center hatch cover.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm stainless hardware

We took special note of the heavy duty, stainless hardware used wherever necessary aboard and especially here, on the port boarding door.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm fish boxes

The port and starboard fish boxes located in the deck both have macerators, and there is an additional boarding door at the transom.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm center hatch

The large center hatch allows expansive access to the machinery space where everything is laid out for ease of maintenance and servicing. The optional Seakeeper gyro is tucked under the bottom portion while the optional Fischer Panda diesel generator, housed in its sound shield, is located at the top end. Dual bilge pumps, seacocks, batteries, fire suppression system, and all hoses and clamps are all positioned in user-friendly areas.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm informative seacock placard

For the hands-on owner, or for your maintenance person, this informative placard gives vital information regarding the all-important 380 Realm's seacocks.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm rod holders

Taking full advantage of the 380 Realm's length and beam, the designers have equipped her with a transom space. Note the three rod holders.

Helm

The centerpiece of the Boston Whaler 380 Realm is its helm area. With luxurious touches, a well-laid-out space for the driver and guests, and a console area that is as good as it gets on a boat of this size and purpose, it’s easy to see how the Boston Whaler team got it right.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm helm space

With up-scale appointments, the well thought out helm space does double duty as a control center and an exciting place to gather.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm Seakeeper displays and Simrad VHF control panel

Up above the helm are the Seakeeper displays and Simrad VHF control panel.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm Captain's chair

Being in the driver's seat aboard the 380 Realm means being seated in this comfortable, bolstered, highly varnished, teak ladder-back, double-wide Captain’s chair.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm helm console

The helm console is as beautiful to look at as it is practical to use. With all controls, switches, and gauges, within comfortable reach, and those three, 16-inch Simrad screens positioned just right, operating the 380 Realm will be an experience worth undertaking.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm vent in forward glass window

For additional air flow while underway, the vent in the forward glass window is electrically operated from the helm and will open and close as needed.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm sunroof

And for even more air flow, and ambient light, open the sunroof with the push of a button.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm swivel seating

Always focusing on comfort and innovative designs, Boston Whaler, with the rear seat backrest able to face the other way, and the captain’s bench able to swivel around, planned the helm area on the 380 Realm to easily convert to a unique dining space under the hardtop and surrounded on three sides by the glass enclosure. The co-pilot’s seat to port can also rotate around to face the rest of those seated at the table.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm outdoor kitchen setup

Given all the spaciousness aboard the 380 Realm allows for this outdoor kitchen setup. An added touch is an optional livewell with access hatch on top. The standard arrangement features a refrigerator below and a large sink. The grill is to the right.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm 260-quart cooler

With the double wide seat aft of the captain's bench now in the rear-facing position, a simple lift will reveal a 260-quart cooler with clear window access to everything inside without asking anyone to get up.

Bow

The bow area on the Realm 380 is as exciting and original as anywhere else on this boat. With the walkway offset to starboard, and a large, glass-famed window easily closed and open via gas-assisted rams, access to the forward portion is through the port passageway. This design allows for maximum use of space here.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm overhead shot

This overhead shot of the 380 Realm under power shows the expansive space allotted fore and aft.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm bow space

Surrounded by stainless grabs, the bow space features a three-person lounge, circular seating with storage below, and a hi-lo, electrically operated table which, in the down position, adds to the lounging area.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm hi-lo table

Without its filler cushion, the hi-lo table shows off its teak finish.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm anchor locker

The anchor locker is fully forward and features wash down, windlass, and control buttons.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm cooler to port

There is also a handy cooler up here to port that is easily accessed with a sturdy gas-assisted ram.

Cabin

Given her size, the cabin space on the 380 Realm is more than sufficient to supply the needs of any cruising couple and, with a bit of ingenuity and careful planning, family members as well. Accessed via a sliding door to port at the helm, the area has all the features one would want during extended times away from your home dock.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm cabin

Stylish, with plenty of headroom, the cabin presents a comfortable space to relax after a long day of cruising. And as everywhere aboard, storage space abounds.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm head

The fully enclosed head, with shower, affords excellent space without the feeling of being cramped.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm galley

The stylish galley space allows for preparing quick meals and snacks while underway.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm V-berth

And of course, the V-berth easily converts to a comfortable sleeping space.

Boston Whaler 380 Realm ambient light

With skylights above, there is plenty of ambient light here, making the space even more accommodating.
