Aviara is a new brand from parent company MasterCraft boats and the AV36 is the latest and biggest model in the luxury dayboat series. It’s available with stern drive or outboard power, which is rare, and the focus is on delivering an upscale on-board experience.
The Fountaine Pajot MY 40 is a luxury cruising power catamaran from French builder Fountaine Pajot. Because MY 40 is a catamaran, there is a lot of space onboard. Fountaine Pajot made excellent use of the space. There is much more volume than would be possible in a comparable monohull. Her accommodations include three staterooms and two heads, plus storage to hold a months worth of storage throughout the yacht. Built specifically for IPS pod propulsion, the Fountaine Pajot MY 40 performed well and presents a surprisingly comfortable, dry ride.
The GTI SE 170 is a new platform for the 2020 season, and Sea-Doo has given us the option of two engine packages. In addition, consumers can choose from two color schemes as well – Ice Metal and Orange Crush, and Beach Blue Metallic and Lava Grey. Plus, the new GTI is designed to be as versatile as ever, giving owners the freedom to rapidly accessorize, hop on and ride – solo or with a crew of three.
Hatteras Yachts is making their 45' (13.72 m) sportfish available in an open model. The original Express series coupe first appeared in 2016, and the Tower and Flybridge models followed. The new Open has an optional tower, essentially providing a hardtop above but not connected to the windshield. The Hatteras GT45X Open, the brand’s newest inception in the GT lineup, is a sub-50 footer that can do big boat things, like fish offshore or cruise along the coast.
The Boston Whaler 405 Conquest is a versatile boat that can take a family fishing or cruising with a spacious cockpit, convertible seating on the helm deck, and a cabin that can sleep up to six. Power is provided by quad Mercury outboards up to 400-hp each.
By introducing the 45 Divergence, Ocean Alexander whose previous smallest vessel was a 70' yacht, delivers an uncharacteristic outboard-powered, open boat they describe as a “day yacht.” As would be expected from Ocean Alexander, it inherits many yacht-like qualities. It is available in two base configurations, Coupe or Sport. BoatTEST.com tested the Sport version.
